Freed Classics are performance shoes made of traditional materials: paste, paper hessian (burlap), paste and leather and they are wonderful to dance in but last a very short time. On the other hand, Gaynor Minden pointes made with polymer boxes and shanks and foam padding can last a week or more of performances and take no breaking in which is where a lot of the life of shoes made of traditional materials is lost.

Worst case a pair may last less than a single ballet. Best case, several weeks. Pointes no longer suitable for performances are usually worn for class and rehearsals.Jillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15373188929595748773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6218371937671599251.post-13320715891737820612013-12-16T02:59:32.674+00:002013-12-16T02:59:32.674+00:00Just wondering: how long does a pair of pointes us...Just wondering: how long does a pair of pointes usually last a dancer?

JohnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
