What maker’s shoes is this dancer wearing?
This is an easy one! The sole pattern is a give away. All readers can participate so here is a chance to test your knowledge of pointe shoes. I hope my Australian friend, Leigha, who takes pointe will participate.

Unfortunately, I can't tell the sole pattern on this one.
ReplyDeleteEric, if you click on the image it will enlarge so the sole wear pattern is easily seen
ReplyDeleteWOW good memory for who is using what shoe, not on pointe for a few weeks due to a broken toe and oh boy do I miss it if the Dr not happy with results it under the knife I go.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's the resolution of the picture, but I still can't see the pattern. I enlarged it on IE to 400% and even used Photoshop to blow it up. Can't tell still.
ReplyDeleteI'm talking about the wear pattern, the dirt ground into the soles of the dancer’s shoes. Not the maker’s logo that is often embossed into the soles of pointes. The three black streaks of stage grime - parallel to the long axis of the sole of the shoe - are unique to one maker and a dead give away.
ReplyDeleteThat helps. According to this - http://www.discountdance.com/image/560x600/gmp.jpg - That would make those shoes Gaynors. I was looking for grooves that would make those marks on the 360 view, but the photo, with how those ridges show when en pointe, made me think those are Gaynor Mindens.
ReplyDeleteYes! That's the give away for Gaynors!
ReplyDeleteGood Job Eric ! Yes Jill There are GM's
ReplyDeleteJill and Paul:
ReplyDeleteIf I knew what to look for, I can find anything. At first, I thought she was talking about sole patterns that are trademarked, not distinctive wear marks.
