Returning readers will remember that there has been considerable angst in some parts of the ballet community over (in their view) the ‘exploitation’ of the art by the film Black Swan. What is undeniable however is the side effect of the film in interesting the general public in seeing ballet companies perform Swan Lake.

Its hard to tell but my guess is Freeds or Suffolk. They both look close since Mark Suffolk use to work for Freeds.

ReplyDeleteWell, there were three correct answers. The lack of pleats under the toe-box and the unique wear pattern on the fore-sole shows the dancer is wearing Gaynor Minden pointes. Thanks to everyone for participating.

Hi Paul S; I perform in special order Freed Classics, but for sex and working en pointe at the casino I prefer Gaynors, because while you need the same skills, ankle strength and stamina to wear both makers shoes with the pre-arched shanks in GMs I can put a lot of my weight on my heels and that enables me to stay en pointe continuously for much longer. Weight on ones heels – ‘sitting in ones shoes’ - is extremely poor classical technique but in Gaynors I'm not dancing Giselle I'm having sex en pointe with a favorite lover, or flirting, showing off my legs at Naughty’s...

ReplyDeleteI don’t charge (for sex) though I do get paid for my knowledge and skill as a ballet dancer and a advanced sexual techniques instructor. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to insist on a clean full STI panel since some of the viruses are incurable and others fatal.
If you paid any attention to what I write about you would know that I am constantly looking out for the average woman who I’m trying to help understand that if they are going to take hormonal contraceptives they need to take them correctly. Otherwise they are hardly more effective than withdrawal.
Will I have sex with ‘just anyone’, certainly not… will you? If you will, good luck with that! I’m sorry if you’re upset because my dance card is full, but that just the way it is.
