The “death rubber” diaphragm: Returning readers may recall my post on April 25, 2016 entitled Death Rubber Diary in which I recorded the acquisition of my latest “death rubber” contraceptive diaphragm. It has been almost eleven months since I added to my collection. Since I wear them as often as possible I’m always on the lookout for replacements as after a few months the older ones begin to develops thin spots, pin holes and cracks around the rim from heavy use.

For readers who are new to my blog a ‘death rubber’ diaphragm, especially a latex one, is one that was being worn by a woman when she died while having penetrative intercourse. So, readers can understand how difficult it can be obtaining a death rubber diaphragm under ideal conditions, meaning that I am able to harvest it myself.

•           And so, I can safely wear it she must have been free of STIs which means at the time of her death she had had a recent negative full panel STI test.

•           And now the Reflexions – latex flat spring rim diaphragm - is no longer being made. However, latex flat spring diaphragms can be custom made for those of us who need them.

Too there is the usual down side to a latex device:

•           Some people are allergic to latex.

•           The useful life is much shorter than a silicone diaphragm.

•           The odor from a latex device worn too long (usually more than 24 hours) can be very strong, however, that can be a plus if you are with a man who is into funky vaginal scents.

The good news about a latex flat spring device is:

•           The heat transfer properties are far superior to silicone.

•           A latex device can be safely used with silicone lubes necessary for proper vaginal lubrication during underwater sex.

•           A wonderful safety feature of a flat spring rim diaphragm is that since it folds in a single plane it is almost impossible for even the most mischievous partner to under-thrust the rim of one that is properly sized and correctly placed.                         

Until a few days ago, my collection was down to three (down from six when I last wrote about them) all 80mm latex diaphragms that I have personally harvested from the vaginas of their previous owners. I try to take good care of them since (as I mentioned above) they all contain their former owner’s sexual exploits that reside in the portion of her Chi still contained in the diaphragm which supplement my own sexual knowledge and experiences when I wear them and each is unique and irreplaceable in that way.

My latest harvesting acquisition: This is the third ‘death rubber’ I’ve harvested since I moved to the UK in January of 2015. 2016 Winter Solstice

The Winter Solstice: The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year and traditionally is the first day of Winter. This year the solstice occurs on Wednesday December 21st at 10:44 GMT (Universal time). My Celtic forebears have always celebrated the solstice at dawn on the day of the solstice which will occur at 8:23 GMT. And, just to make things interesting in my part of Wales, the Cumbrian Mountains, the weather forecast is for light rain from 8:00 AM – 12:00 noon with temperatures in the low 40s (F). The peat braziers will be alight which will take some of the chill off and the Blackthorn hedges are a very effective windbreak. So, the celebration should be nothing like as uncomfortable as when I celebrated it at Location Z in the Scottish Highlands several years ago, with my wards, in ice and snow. The hooded shearling robes are quite warm, but cold of the stone altar seeps through and being wet makes that happen quicker. I would love to have ritual winter seed planted in me on a dry Winter Solstice day!  

The ritual planting of winter seed: As I mentioned in an earlier post my current sweetie Tim, a well-endowed SAS officer, who knows how to make me go boneless thrusting into my anterior fornix, will be on the main altar with me at 8:23 AM. We were both a bit high on sloe brandy when we got up on the altar. I lay on my back and he knelt between my legs and prepared to enter me. I wore only a pair of Gaynor Minden pointes, my latex diaphragm and a hooded shearling robe. I had checked that my diaphragm was covering my cervix and that I was well lubed. Anyone wondering if wearing dancer modified pointes are comfortable has only to look at where the shanks have been cut away from the outer soles and where the wearer puts her weight when on her heels, which is why we seldom put weight on our heels for long when wearing pointe-shoes with customized ¾ shanks. A great many successful female ballet dancers are masochists to some extent which makes it easier to deal with the discomfort of wearing and performing in pointe-shoes.

 Masochism: The term has several meanings:

1. The deriving of sexual gratification from fantasies or acts that involve being made to suffer physical or mental pain. Also, called sexual masochism.

2. The deriving of pleasure from being humiliated or mistreated, either by another or by oneself.

3. A willingness or tendency to subject oneself to unpleasant or trying experiences.

Most women ballet dancers I know fall under the third meaning of the term. Though for me the discomfort (significantly lessened for me by wearing Gaynor Minden shoes for play) is worth the power, confidence I get from wearing and performing in pointes.

The scent maven: I like to be able to provide a fetish partner with a wide range of feminine scents to choose from when we are having a sexual encounter and the extent of options available for my scent bouquet will depend on where I am in my cycle and what I wear.

Some erotic scent sources:

The aroma of estrogenic sweat soaked pointes: Ballet and foot fetishists often agree that the English paste used in Freed pointe shoes made of traditional materials; hessian, cardboard, satin, leather and paste produces the best bouquet when soaked in a dancers estrogenic sweat. A quick way to get them sweat soaked is to wear them while exercising in a latex catsuit or leggings. Especially if they have three-quartered shanks (as in the photo above) since the sweat pours out of the ankle opening and into the backs of the shoes to be soaked up by the raw leather where the top of the shank has been cut away.  

Wearing them for too long when in latex can get them so soaked that the blocks will never recover even when heavily jet glued so if anyone tries this do so with an old pair first. There are a few pointe fetishists who like the sweat soaked aroma of Gaynor Minden pointes that have a chemical scent about them and a really pungent odor if an anti-bacterial spray hasn’t been used on the insides and they have become ripe.

A fun alternative for moistening one’s pointes is to have a partner cum in your shoes in the toe-boxes or on the exposed leather undersoles of ¾ shanked shoes. Or, I like to fellatite a partner and rather than swallowing his load spit it into my shoes.  And of course, the ever-popular option of having him come in my toe pads then push my toes into the thick hot sperm rich cream fresh out of a favorite man before forcing them into the tight toe-boxes of favorite pair of play pointes.

The aroma of a sweaty latex catsuit: Not that other latex feminine garments don’t provide their own bouquets, but a catsuit can provide both pelvic and breast scents, if the wearer is lactating. Though rancid breastmilk can be a scent-too-far for some as it can cause nausea for the couple and it can be costly since it’s almost impossible to get the rancid scent out of a latex garment w/o damaging it.

A latex diaphragm: A latex diaphragm worn for more than 24 hours and marinated in female fertile cervical mucus (FCM), arousal lube, or menstrual flow and male genital secretions can be a sinus clearing scent!  Though leaving a diaphragm in place with menstrual flow for a protracted interval is very dangerous as bacteria buildup can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) which can be fatal.

A latex diaphragm, now very difficult to get other than by custom fitting, is far better to use as a sensory toy because the latex surface is a bit porous and so reacts with reproductive tract secretions far better than silicone. As a toy the diaphragm can be used to collect fertile cervical mucus for consumption by a male partner or, when I’m luteal, we can act out a breeding fantasy by him ejaculating in the dome and I insert it so the tip of my cervix is submerged in a pool of semen instead of spermicide while he inseminates me the traditional way in missionary.   

Menstrual discharge: A diaphragm either latex or silicone or a menstrual cup (I wear a Diva Cup) can be used as a container by fetishists who are fond of consuming their partner’s menstrual flow. Of m partners who are menstrual fetishists all prefer the silicone Caya because the cup is deeper and can be easily drunk from. My partners think another plus is the grip dimples which prevent it slipping out of their grasp while licking out the “clots”, which aren’t really clots but pieces of endometrium that often come out in my flow. All my menstrual fetishists claim consuming my flow is a nutritional supplement, as a source of iron.  They are also fond of its thick consistency and metallic scent. I do try to eat an iron rich diet to ensure I don’t become anemic from blood loss and I’m fortunate not to have extremely heavy or long and painful menses.

Latex and breast milk: Breast feeding while in a latex catsuit can be wonderful, but high-maintenance as the wearer has to be careful to clean up any milk leakage afterward or the milk and sweat combination will quickly turn rancid and getting that scent out of latex can be very hard and sometimes impossible to do. Occasionally, with a male partner who enjoys revolting scents wearing a latex suit smelling of rancid milk can be a plus, but those men are very rare and good quality latex catsuits are expensive so I have an inexpensive one that reeks of rancid breastmilk that I wear if I’m with one of them. When not in use I wash it and keep it in an airtight bag so the scent is contained. 

Sweaty leather ballet-boots: Returning readers will recall that I wear custom made ballet-boots made by my cobbler Gepetto. They have unitized titanium toe-box and shank assemblies and easily replicable titanium heel spikes in case one bends or breaks which is very unlikely.   Properly sized and genuine leather ballet-boots even though the leather breathes can cause the wearer’s feet to sweat and swell. The problem with ballet-boots is threefold: 1) it’s difficult to get the correct size and heel height and, 2) made of top quality genuine leather - not smaller pieces stitched together - they can be very expensive and 3) there are few cobblers who still make quality hand crafted ballet-boots as the market is small and there is little profit, so the maker is usually still making them because he loves fitting fetishists, especially women. The rich fresh leather scent of a pair of new quality leather boots can be amazing and only improved when soaked in the wearer’s estrogenic sweat.

When I’m out clubbing I’m sometimes accused of “holding court” because some of the male members in my circle will come to my table kneel and pledge their fealty by ejaculating into the laces of my boots. It’s a lovely gesture, but it does make the cleaning of them afterward more difficult. Getting the most from your diaphragm

Repetition: I know I’ve covered this before, but I’m being repeatedly asked about how to get the most from the few styles of contraceptive diaphragms that are still available.

The Photo: The Caya contoured diaphragm was designed to fit women who take the four most often prescribed sizes of traditional diaphragms; 65mm, 70, 75, and 80mm. Caya has a polymer rim spring so there is no worry about wearing it through metal detectors at airports and the slightly matte outer surface of the cervix cup increases a partner’s sensation rubbing against the glans of his thrusting penis. The six bumps on the right side of the rim are grip dimples. There is an identical set on the other side that make gripping and compressing a slippery rim for insertion much easier than the smooth rim of a traditional diaphragm. The dome on the right is the removal dome into which the wearer inserts a finger to break the seal and pull it out.

Disadvantages of the Caya: Women with vaginas smaller than 65mm and larger than 80mm cannot safely wear it. The heat transfer properties of silicone are not as good as latex and in larger vaginas the relief arch tends to rotate a few degrees one way or the other. If rotation is too great the Caya rim can be under-thrust which the relief arch was designed to prevent. Since I am at the upper design limit for the Caya I’m reluctant to wear it for “flood insurance” during underwater sex.

A silicone Milex contraceptive diaphragm

The Photo: The last of the traditional diaphragms still commercially available Milex comes in two rim styles, Arcing and Omniflex (coil spring) rim. It is available in eight diameter sizes, from 60 to 95mm, in 5mm increments. The wide seal flange on the inside of the rim provides a larger surface to seal against the vaginal walls. The two cut-outs in the wide seal indicate where the fingers should be placed to compress the arcing rim for insertion. While the Omniflex (coil spring) rim has the same cutouts the Omniflex can be compressed at any two opposite points on the rim for insertion. The dark round spot in the inside center of the dome is the extrusion nub.

Properly cared for a Milex diaphragm will last several times longer than a latex diaphragm. However, it is still susceptible to deterioration from oils of all kinds as well as silicone lubricants. The stiff silicone dome has much poorer heat transfer properties than does the dome of a latex diaphragm.

A major advantage of the latex flat spring over the Caya is that when correctly fitted and properly inserted it is almost impossible for even a mischievous partner to intentionally under-thrust the rim. Other advantages are that silicone lubes can be safely used with a latex diaphragm and the heat transfer properties of the translucent stretchy latex dome are far superior to silicone diaphragms. Another advantage that isn’t generally talked about is that for women with partners who are able to thrust into their anterior fornix a flat spring rim, since it only bends in the plane of the rim, will retain its shape and allow the latex dome to be stretched tight over the tip of the cervix and deep into the anterior fornix. This puts upward pressure on the cervix and therefore the uterus pushing it a few millimeters deeper which makes the bottom of the fornix that much deeper as well.  This cannot be duplicated with Milex and Caya diaphragms because the Milex rims (arcing and coil spring) bend in two planes and the Caya cervix cup is too deep to allow the cervix to be pushed upward by a penis thrusting into the anterior fornix. Another advantage of a Reflexions latex diaphragm is that the raised triangle (with the size of the device in millimeters in its center) on the outside center of the dome can stimulate the glans of a thrusting penis long enough to reach it.

Disadvantages of latex diaphragms: The latex can be easily damaged by oils of all kinds in lubes, vaginal meds and even by perfume on the fingers during insertion. Even when properly cared for a well-used (3+ times a week) latex diaphragm should be replaced every year. The rim of a Reflexions is stiffer to compress and hold (when slippery) for insertion than the Caya and a latex device will develop an odor quicker than a silicone one because the surface of the latex is porous to a small extent.  The odor   developing quicker is seen by scent fetishes as a plus.

However, the main problem with latex diaphragms is that they are no longer commercially available.  I’m fortunate to still have several new Reflexions that I haven’t broken the seals on the boxes, so I should be fine for a while longer. Currently only at Gyn practices specializing in cervical barriers can women be fitted for latex diaphragms custom made with coil, arcing or flat spring rims.

Expressing a diaphragm: For the best protection, a diaphragm should develop a strong seal (suction) in the dome. This seal depends on the flexibility of the vaginal walls with no major irregularities to grip a properly sized and correctly placed rim. A diaphragm with poor suction can be used fairly effectively with plenty of spermicide in the dome, but not as effectively as with strong suction. There is nothing more satisfying to me, from a safety perspective, than to feel the strong suction tug as I break the seal to remove my diaphragm at least six hours after the last act of intercourse (to make sure all his little swimmers are dead) from a long session of love making.

To get the strongest suction possible a wearer should express the air out of the dome or cervical cup with her fingers. Where the most air will accumulate under the dome is in the anterior fornix. The wider the anterior fornix the more air is trapped. Because of the smaller cervix cup there is less air to express from a Caya than a conventional diaphragm dome. Some women can press down and lower the cervix enough that the wearer can express all the air from her anterior fornix with her fingers. But when using fingers there is the possibility of cutting or tearing the dome with a fingernail. Others find it helpful to use a small dildo or the rounded handle of a table knife to force the dome into the anterior fornix to completely evacuate the air. It’s especially important if the wearer is using a diaphragm as “flood insurance” during dive-sex so the hydraulics of a partner’s thrusts will not force water into the wearer’s uterus.

The saga continues: Returning readers will recall in my post of September 21^st, entitled “An offer I couldn’t refuse” I wrote about going to a prospective client (Ron’s) home on a ‘job interview’. In person Ron is very charming and did not display his wild side which the tabloids are so fond of publicizing though when we got into the details he was quite the randy gentleman as we were one-on-one and there was a limited amount of alcohol since that can affect sexual performance. During my sit-down interview we talked about me. He already knew my background as a dancer, courtesan and pelvic skills teacher and we seemed to be of the same mind about sex, BDSM and the D/s subculture about which he was interested, but not as an active participant, yet.  

Contraceptive devices: He asked what I used for contraception and mentioned he preferred bareback sex and his dislike of condoms which seems almost universal in men, except perhaps for rubber fetishists. He believes birth control is “the woman’s responsibility” and I agree since it will be me who gets pregnant if a partner’s condom tears or comes off. However, for a man who isn’t sure of the effectiveness of his partner’s birth control a condom is a good idea – that could save him the cost of a paternity suit or an abortion - and of course for a new partner with an unknown sexual history it’s ‘no glove, no love’. But I digress…

He was amazed that I use cervical barriers for contraception when I told him about my preference for latex flat spring diaphragms and the silicone Oves cervical cap. And when I showed him the spare latex FS from my slit-kit it seemed to add a bit of spice for him seeing and fondling a device with which a woman can protect herself against his sperm. He became quite obviously aroused when later I showed him how I removed and inserted the one I was wearing.  So a cervical barrier device works wonderfully as foreplay for him. I pointed out that even if his girlfriend has a frameless, copper bead GyneFix IUD implanted (which she does) she can still wear a diaphragm as a bit of ‘stagecraft’ if that is a turn-on for him and he liked that idea.

Training devices: He asked what tools I use in my pelvic training course and I mentioned Ben Wa balls, dildos and pointe shoes, preferably Gaynor Minden if the student can be properly fitted in them. She has appeared in a number of University ballet productions and takes her ballet training seriously taking class three times a week or more frequently when time permits.  She is currently working for a high profile charity organization to ‘give back’ as so many of the great and good do these days. The 2016 Autumnal Equinox

A lovely Fall day in the mountains

The 2016 Autumnal Equinox: The Autumnal equinox in the northern hemisphere occurred on Thursday September 22^nd this year at 2:21 PM GMT so we held the ceremony at dawn, 7:01 AM GMT.

My wards Bea, Seren and Bryony and Claire (the Dryads) arrived at Blackthorn Castle on Wednesday for the ritual celebration of this important celestial event and were paired with their male partners right away to allow the couples to become accustomed to one another sexually so there would be no surprises at dawn on the 22^nd.  The four men were among the SAS volunteers who had been partnering with the government pelvic trainees under the guidance of Tanaquil and were asked to stay on for the equinox celebration. The four selected had the best sexual stamina and ability to stay focused which over the years I found - from my experience with partners at Location Z - was needed while performing on ancient Celtic altars in the open air under less than ideal weather conditions. Even though it was a week day Tim got leave from his classes to partner me on the primary altar.

Returning readers will recall that my wards con-celebrate these celestial occasions on subtending altars to the east, west, north and south of the primary altar at Celtic holy sites. These secondary altars at Blackthorn Castle – unearthed earlier this year - surrounding the primary altar adjacent to the ancient Blackthorn tree have been recently reconsecrated by a Druid priest.  Now human reproductive tract secretions are used in ritual fertility ceremonies. Instead of animal blood being spilled the transfer of seed from male to female in an act of ritual breeding occurs on stone altars where animal sacrifices once were offered to Venus/Aphrodite before Celtic mythology morphed her into the Celtic Goddess Rhiannon.  Seren (the Welsh name for star) Tim’s 18 y/o second cousin, a college mate of Bea at Cambridge drew the short straw and got the place of honor on the eastern altar closest to the sunrise.

The forecast was for cloudy but dry with the temperature in the low 50s (F).  And that is exactly the weather we had! I think it is the first time in the years that I have been celebrating celestial events in the open that there hasn’t been some form of precipitation. So the hooded shearling robes made for the occasion were quite comfy relative to what my wards and I experienced at Location Z in the Highlands of Scotland in 2014. And of course the girls and I all wore Gaynor Minden pointes with sueded tips for traction on the altar surfaces.

Since none of my wards are living with me now their cycles are no longer synchronous with mine. None were menstrual and only Bea was fertile. None of their partners wore protection, but of course the girls all have frameless GyneFix copper bead IUDs implanted so they were quite safe from pregnancy. Today, the 22^nd I am CD6 and my period is winding down so I took Tim on the primary altar without using a diaphragm for flow control and it was marvelous! Both of us were unprotected which is unusual for me! It didn’t matter that we got blood all over the inside of our fleece robes since they were ritually burnt after the ceremony and before our celebratory breakfast. Everything went as planned and the weather cooperated (for once) so it was a lovely ceremony on the first day of Fall!

Teen training diaphragms

A successful Summer Ballet Intensive: Now my Summer Ballet Intensive has come to the end of its third and final week at Blackthorn Castle. This morning the students all boarded ‘The Dragon’, my personal rail cars, for the trip to London St Pancreas on their way back to their homes.

Semina as a training diaphragm: Returning readers will recall that in my May 6, 2016 post about the requirements for students at the 2016 Blackthorn Ballet Summer Intensive I wrote about the desirability of Semina as a starter cervical barrier for teens: 

“A sexually active barrier-girl should never be without her diaphragm and the Seminas pink transparent silicone rubber, which some wearer’s have compared to a pink soap bubble, has proved very attractive when used as a young woman’s first experience with cervical barriers. The use of a Semina began as an alternative for teens that were too small for an IUD and couldn’t use hormonal contraceptives. However, when it was found that they could also be effectively used for cervix protection (flood insurance) during under water penetrative sex even the girls on hormonal birth control wanted to be fitted for a Semina. IUDs and cervical barriers are only compatible when the IUD strings are trimmed off so they don’t stick to a cervical barrier worn for ‘flood insurance’ during underwater penetrative vaginal sex which is one of the more arcane subjects on the syllabus during the Blackthorn Ballet Summer Intensive. Stringless IUDs worn by up-market Escorts and our students are checked for proper position with periodic ultrasound scans.”

The introducer shown in the photo is used to simplify insertion especially for women with short fingers. Unfortunately, introducers are no longer generally available, but it is easy to learn the proper insertion technique. Should BBSI students progress to become “socially available” for underwater penetrative sex they can switch to a latex flat spring diaphragm similar to the Reflexions of blessed memory which can be custom made. While some few people are allergic to latex and natural rubber latex does not last as long as silicone the advantages are considerable as the heat transfer and the elastic properties of the translucent dome membrane are far superior to silicone and for a partner interested in the strong scent of a diaphragm left inserted for more than twenty-four hours’ latex is the preferred material as the scent can be eye-watering. Additionally, the flat spring rim which only folds in a single plane makes it very desirable as ‘flood insurance’ because it’s nearly impossible for even a mischievous lover to intentionally under-thrust the rim. Latex flat spring diaphragms are still the barrier type preferred by elite level Courtesans and Escorts and now are only available through specialist GYNs by special order.

Student injuries: We have been fortunate to have no serious injuries just the normal things like split and bruised nails, not that they aren’t painful. There have been no problems with GyneFix IUDs or Semina diaphragms during after class social activities including surface and underwater sexual encounters. And there have been no pregnancies the insemination for which could have occurred prior to the student arriving at Blackthorn Castle. It would have been very unlikely as all the students have copper bead GyneFix IUDs implanted, but possible. There was a student who should have had a hymenectomy and she had a painful time with large diameter partners even when well lubricated. She insisted on continuing with the syllabus and it was a teaching moment for the entire class. 

Seren:  Returning readers will recall that my most recent ward is Seren a college mate of Bea at Cambridge who will be working as an intern Hostess with Bea at the Costume Club during summer holiday. She is Tim (my current lover’s) 18 y/o second cousin and while taking ballet and meeting the requirements of the ballet intensive was a last minute addition when another student dropped out. There was some concern that she wouldn’t be able to keep up as she hadn’t had nearly as long to prepare as the other students. I’m pleased to say that she has marvelous stamina, poise and lovely technique so she finished in the top third of the class for the ballet part of the course. She has been equally as impressive with the social side enjoying her encounters with various male sexual partners and having an impressive pelvic grip, the ability to withstand multiple orgasms w/o fainting and is a class favorite among the men, but that was something they tried not to show since summer intensives are very competitive w/o introducing favoritism.

The Caya contoured diaphragm

New semen in my vagina: Returning readers will recall that my current group of Personal Assistant candidates: Cinnamon, Fern, Heather, Holly, Iris, Ivy and Jasmine and their male partners: Doc, Dopy, Sleepy, Happy, Grumpy, Sneezy and Bashful were first mentioned in my post for February 4^th so their nine week pelvic training intensive is well underway and the girls (with hot soaks, ibuprofen and liniment) are becoming used to having eight or more acts of deep vaginal penetration to orgasm every day not to mention identifying and manipulating their vaginal muscle groups to train them for Pompoir. I had originally thought that eight weeks would be sufficient, but the first weeks pace was physically harder on the girls than many of them would be able to continue so I extended it to nine and included Anya’s and my partners in the male rotation as well so the girls get to rotate through nine men and Anya and I do too.

Anya says I was looking out for myself, but I like to think I was being lenient on the girls as vaginal epithelium is very delicate and too much of the wrong, especially dry, stimulation can put a woman physically out of action for penetrative vaginal sex for weeks and mentally for longer. The men are not on performance enhancers since one of the tasks of the trainees is to arouse their partners who by now are operating near the limit of their sexual performing capability. The men rotate to a different girl each day so there is the excitement of a new partner with his and her unique look, scent, taste, feel and style of lovemaking that keeps things interesting and since I’m fertile I love having a man fill me with his sperm! Of course when I’m fertile I’m double bagged with an Oves screwed down on my ripe cervix and a Reflexions latex flat spring over that so I should be quite safe but the thrill of something going wrong and me ending up carrying one of the trainer’s baby is just so unbelievably arousing! I’d have it sucked out of course as I haven’t spent thirty-five years keeping my body in top physical condition to have a man’s sperm push it all out of shape and take a year off my performing life.

Beguiling a partner with Caya: As this is written I’m CD 12 and fertile. Any woman reading this can surely tell I’m having such a good time with the new men – the ones helping train the candidates for intimate Personal Assistants positions with Taryn’s new personnel placement group. For women using a diaphragm there is no better way to get a man interested in that device than to ask him to ‘help’ with its insertion. The Caya with its nylon arcing spring rim, smaller cervical cup, grip dimples, relief arch and removal dome is easier to insert and remove than the traditional circular latex or silicone diaphragms previously available.

From a male partner’s perspective the Caya’s upturned relief arch which fits up behind the pubic bone minimizes the likelihood that he will hit the anterior rim; and the slightly textured matte surface of the cervical cup increases his sensation thrusting against it are improvements over the traditional diaphragm. And I’ve found that very well endowed men who can reach into my posterior fornix when I’m entered from behind enjoy thrusting into Caya’s soft rim spring.

I’m becoming much more of a fan of Caya, especially as a toy. Returning readers will recall that even though I wear a U.S. dress size two I’m at the upper design limit of the Caya since I take a conventional 80 mm diaphragm. Consequently I’ve been a bit apprehensive of its effectiveness for me. However, now that I’m using it more I’ve found that Caya consistently develops a strong suction (more about that below) and I’ve never had it displace. So now I’m learning to relax while using it especially with a well endowed partner because in missionary he can push the sloping anterior side of the 55mm cervical cup deeper into my anterior fornix than the suction in the cup has pulled it and move the relief arch enough to caress my G-spot. That way I get G-spot and A-spot orgasms simultaneously which turns me into a gasping, moaning, mewing, quivering, boneless mess making it very difficult - even with very strong feet and ankles - to remain balanced en pointe when taken while standing backed against a wall or studio mirror! Of course depending on each woman’s pelvic anatomy and her partner’s size she may, or may not, find Caya as much fun as I do.

A clever Caya wearer will first show her partner how she inserts and how she removes it before letting him try. I’ve found that my lovers are very interested in learning how to insert and remove my diaphragm correctly as they get a thrill from helping me protect myself so they don’t need to wear condoms. They are also very quick learners though most want to try inserting and removal far more times than they need and I let them because we both enjoy them with their hands in my vagina. Expressing the remaining air from the cup with the fingers during insertion is something I always do and teach my partners to do it correctly because it increases the suction insuring a better seal which I find comforting. It is also something that my partners love to do as they get to play with my vagina and ‘accidently’ caress my clitoris shaft with a thumb causing me to gasp and moan while giving them confidence that my cervix is well protected. I believe that since I’m at the upper design limit of the Caya the stronger the suction in the cup the safer I am from the possibility of my Cays displacing or rotating and a partner under-thrusting the rim.  

Possible problems with a male partner helping with insertion are: 1) The wearer could become aroused and her vagina lengthen (tent) making it more difficult (or sometimes impossible) to get the posterior rim behind the woman’s cervix and deep into her posterior fornix if he has short fingers. Although lying on her back and pushing down will force her cervix closer to the entrance to her vagina so that pushing the folded rim along the back wall of the vagina should get the rim beneath and behind the cervix. Once he thinks the Caya is correctly placed her partner should feel for her cervix under the cup to make sure Caya is correctly positioned. It is important that the woman check behind her partner to double check her cervix is indeed in the cup. 2) The male partner may in some instances become so aroused that he ejaculates before penetration. However, this can be seen as an advantage as his refractory interval will allow time for him to give his partner her pleasure with his fingers before another erection will allow him to penetrate her and fill her with semen.

A caution: The Caya is a one-size-fits-most device. Very petite or very tall women may not be able to use Caya effectively because it was designed to be used by women who take the four most commonly prescribed sizes of traditional diaphragms; 65mm, 70, 75 and 80mm. Additionally, the wearer must have a well defined retropubic niche 1 to 2 cm deep into which the relief arch will fit properly, which most women do. 

Ovulation pain and spotting, kitting out, hyperventilation

On this chart ovulation spotting is shown on CD15 I have a very regular 28 day cycle and usually ovulate on CD14. If the woman’s cycle is regular (stable) charting fertile signs this way can be very effectively used to increase the likelihood of pregnancy or to know when protection should be used, or the couple abstain, during the fertile interval if trying to avoid conceiving.

The candidate’s cycles: the seven candidates cycles are all between 28 and 32 days in length, are relatively stable and they haven’t been together long enough to have developed any menstrual synchrony. From the beginning of the eight week course two have just experienced ovulation spotting, one is newly fertile and one has just started her menses. The other three are luteal.

Ovulation pain and spotting:  “Who Has Painful Ovulation? Many women never experience painful ovulation. Some women, however, have mid-cycle pain every month and can determine by the pain that they are ovulating.”

“Mittelschmerz is the pelvic and lower abdominal pain that some women experience during ovulation. Ovulation generally occurs about midway between menstrual cycles; hence the term mittelschmerz, which comes from the German words for "middle" and "pain." The pain of ovulation can range from a mild twinge to severe discomfort and usually lasts from minutes to hours. It is generally felt on one side of the abdomen and may vary each month, depending on which ovary is releasing the egg during that cycle. In some cases, a small amount of vaginal bleeding or discharge may occur. In my case I have a twinge of pain for a few minutes on the side on which the follicle ruptures to release the egg and a few hours later a little blood colors my fertile cervical mucus pink.

The seven PA candidates as flowers:  My current group of Personal Assistant candidates I’ll refer to as: Cinnamon, Fern, Heather, Holly, Iris, Ivy and Jasmine and their male partners as: Doc, Dopy, Sleepy, Happy, Grumpy, Sneezy and Bashful if I need to be specific.

Kitting out the flowers and dwarfs: Carla, my Divemaster, is taking them through qualifying (or requalifying in two instances) for their Open Water SCUBA certification needed to be able to perform dive-sex in pools in the Americas, the UK, and Europe. Taryn’s new startup is springing for their kitting out. Startup costs are high, but her core business, porn, is extremely profitable so the front end costs aren’t a concern. The girls and their partners are only responsible for their swimsuits; side-tie thong bikinis for the girls and Speedo slingshots for the guys. And I fit the girls with my clinics latex flat spring diaphragms for flood insurance which allows them to use DiveGel+ which is a silicone base combination lube, spermicide and biocide protecting the girls from the likelihood of a yeast infection from having so many male partners. I’m very pleased to say that the latex FS diaphragms in all seven trainees develop very strong suction in the domes indicating a superior fit especially after expressing the remaining air from the dome with the fingers.  

Carla had a rep from the Aberdeen dive shop where she had worked bring a van full of gear and fit them all (women and men) with an OTS Guardian FFM and they tried them out wearing BCs and 80 cu ft HP steel tanks in the shallow (64 ft deep) well just to get them acclimated to the energy and the amount of air expended (you tend to forget about air conservation techniques during orgasm) during dive-sex. They were on regular air rather than Enriched Air Nitrox with 32% oxygen (EAN32) which I use if I’m bottom diving the shallow well or in the deeper one. The net was strung across the well at 30 feet to prevent a diver in an uncontrolled descent from sinking to the bottom. During training the candidates are tethered to the net with an ankle leash which keeps them about fifteen feet below the surface during an encounter. Anya and I already had our FFMs, BCs and pool-pointes in the gear room in the wells ladies’ dressing room. Returning readers may recall that pool-pointes are silicone rubber pointe shoes with nylon ribbons and threaded female connectors on the platforms of the shoes to take male threaded weights that will hold the wearer on the bottom or guarantee the wearer stays in the vertical position in the water because of the weighted footwear.

The female condom and dive-sex: As I mentioned above latex flat spring diaphragms can be used for ‘flood insurance’ along with silicone base DiveGel+ as a lubricant that isn’t quickly washed away during dive-sex. However, the silicone in DiveGel gets in a partner’s mouth during cunilingus. Since the dwarfs will be licking and sucking the flowers vulvas during surface sex for dive-sex training the girls will dive wearing only the FC2 nitrile female condoms - which have silicone lube preapplied in the sheath - for training purposes since they will be having a lot of underwater penile-vaginal intercourse, PVI.  And, since they don’t need the FC2 for contraception they can reuse them, but only for multiple acts during the same training session encounter.   

Do not try this at home! The FC2 FAQs say the inner ring of an FC2 will interfere with the rim of a diaphragm during contraceptive use and that is a real possibility. The Flowers have GyneFix copper IUDs implanted for contraception and shouldn’t need flood insurance, in case a partner accidently inserts outside the sheath in the rush to reinsert after slipping out, while training with a professional male escort.

However, in my case I feel I need a FS latex diaphragm because of the high frequency of my encounters and training nonprofessionals. I’ve been testing wearing an FC2 in addition to a flat spring latex diaphragm while luteal and have found in my case using an FC2 should not affect the seal when I am using them together for training purposes. That’s because I wear an 80mm diaphragm and the 68mm closed end ring will nest inside the rim on the convex side of my latex diaphragm when air has been expressed from the dome so it develops very strong seal. That way the smaller inner ring of the FC2 will slide over the collapsed dome of the larger diaphragm and shouldn’t affect the seal.

Any wear on the dome of the diaphragm is checked after every encounter and spare diaphragms are available for immediate replacement if necessary. I have been double bagging this way several times a day for several days while diving the well and so far there is no sign of wear on any of the latex diaphragm. The FC2 is about 7.2 inches long the inner ring is 67mm in diameter and it has silicone lubricant already applied in the sheath. When used w/o a diaphragm a very long man penetrating a very deep woman thrusting his glans into her anterior or posterior fornix could force the outer ring into the vagina, but this is unlikely for the average user. However, since the male partners are very well endowed and the Flowers all have long vaginas the men wear a double cock ring to prevent forcing the outer ring of the FC2 into their partner’s vagina during training. Dive-sex and Hyperventilation: Hyperventilation is where air is only partially exhaled leaving CO2 in the lungs and little room for fresh air. That makes the diver feel she can’t breathe and try to increase her respiration rate with shallow breaths which only makes the situation worse. Hyperventilation can come from over exertion or stress which increases the breath rate w/o fully emptying the lungs. To prevent that a diver should try to hold her breath rate relatively steady and fully exhale to rid her lungs of the CO2 and needed oxygen can get to her lungs. While having sex using SCUBA gear hyperventilation is a fairly common problem if divers are not taught to control their breathing and fully exhale. When approaching and during orgasm are the most common times when couples new to dive-sex experience hyperventilation.

Equalization difficulties: Two of the trainees have problems equalizing when diving so are on a generic of the Sudafed decongestant. “Pseudoephedrine, a key ingredient in Sudafed(r), is a commonly used decongestant by divers. A recent study* highlighted its effectiveness. The study compared pseudoephedrine to a placebo in its ability to prevent middle ear squeeze in novice divers.
