Christian Louboutin

Christian Louboutin mesh sole kitten heel slippers (photo by David Lynch)

The Photo:
From: http://www.louboutin-fetish.com/accueil.html shows a pair of what I call “semen slippers” that have mesh soles so the wearer can feel a lover/client’s semen squish between her toes as she jacks him off. The version of the slippers made by Gepetto and worn by Towel Girls at Splash (Adolph’s elite exercise club) have suction cup grippers around the edges of the soles to prevent slipping in puddles of ejaculate while participating as the object of desire in a multi-man circle-jerk. Afterward the TG can let a lover lick semen off the soles of her feet as a tease w/o removing her slippers. Being allowed to take off a Towel Girl’s slippers, pointes or ballet-boots is a premium service and sole licking of semen slippers after the TG has squished his ejaculate between her toes through the mesh soles almost always results in her client paying for the privilege of removing her slippers to suck her toes still slippery with his seed.

“CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN has shed some light on why some women endure wearing painfully high heels.

"There is an element of seduction in shoes that doesn't exist for men," he said. "Think about Marlene Dietrich crossing her legs - the whole attitude. The language starts with the shoe and radiates over the whole body. A woman can be sexy, charming, witty or shy with her shoes. Shoes for men are about elegance or wealth; they are not playing with the inner character.

"That's why women are happy to wear painful shoes. For some a little discomfort is balanced by something else, which has to do with desire. You feel yourself, empower yourself, know yourself. You are aware of your body. This little act of discomfort pays off in lots of other ways."

Louboutin, who is launching a book to celebrate his 20 years in fashion, has a customer base which includes the world's most stylish women, from Kate Moss to Victoria Beckham - a woman the designer is quite a fan of.

"Her whole attitude is 'Here I am'," he told the Sunday Times. "She doesn't look like a mouse ready to hide. She has a strong and active attitude. She is fronting things. She is an actor in her own life. That's why a lot of people love and respect her."

“CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN has launched his first ever book, a beautiful tome featuring the designer's most iconic styles as well as an insight into his influences and photos from his personal archives.

"Rizzoli approached me to work on a book together and it happened to be perfect timing as my 20th anniversary was approaching," Louboutin told us this afternoon. "Without a doubt my favorite element is the photography of the shoes by Philippe Garcia. In researching the book, I was also obliged to revisit my own personal archive of photos and sketches and I was impressed at the amount that I had saved from those early days.

"The most important thing to me when considering the photography was to ensure my favorite pieces from the 20 years photographed in a beautiful way. The choice of photographer was crucial - I didn't want to work with a fashion photographer who would be likely to photograph them in a seasonal way as a book has a much longer life than a magazine. The book also includes photography from a past collaboration with film director David Lynch and we made a conscious decision to shoot the shoes and bags chosen for the book against a light background to contrast against their darker aesthetic."

The book is divided into six chapters; the first documents Louboutin's biography, noting his early work for Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent; the second looks at the various interiors of the label's international stores; the third charts 20 years of Louboutin design, the fourth features intimate photographs of the designer's Paris and Egypt homes, while the fifth and sixth explore his collaboration with prestigious director David Lynch.

Louboutin has also recruited some of his favorite models and famous friends to contribute, including Dita Von Teese, Kristen Scott Thomas and Mika.”

Personal Comment: Louboutin does make some lovely shoes! His fetish shoes are the standard other creative makers try to emulate.

Ballet sex

White Freed Classics in a tight 5th position

Toe-shoes and ballet sex:
There is Ballet sex, and there is ballet boot sex and the two are sometimes confused both being considered ballet sex (reaching orgasm while standing en pointe) by those unfamiliar with the minutiae of ballet history. Ballet boot sex is fetish sex pure and simple and its origin may date from the time of the Viennese fetish boot (circa 1900). However, ballet boots only began gaining in popularity in the 1980s and seem to be used primarily as a fetish fantasy to pose in while a very few can stand in them long enough to reach orgasm from penile-vaginal intercourse. In the case of true ballet sex the woman wears pointe shoes which make the encounter part of a long tradition the origin of which is lost in the mists of time, but probably evolved in the Foyer de la Danse of the Opera house in the Rue Le Peletier, in Paris in the late 1850s when in the evolution of the pointe shoe it had developed enough structure to allow the shoes to help support the dancer’s weight rather that just padding her toes and having to use her muscles w/o much support to stand en pointe. The Foyer de la Danse was a location for rendezvous between male ballet supporters and their favorite dancers. Edgar Degas immortalized the location in his painting ‘The Foyer de la Danse at the Opéra in the Rue Le Peletier’ now in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, which says this about the area: “The Foyer de la Danse was a phenomenon exclusively related to the Paris Opera house. The Foyer de la Danse, initially in Opera house in the Rue Le Peletier [burned in 1873], and then in the Palais Garnier, was one of the most cherished places of Paris. An institution, the Foyer de la Danse in the opera house was the privileged meeting point between subscribers and dancers. It had its golden age in the decades 1820-1880. The painters Eugène Lami, Edgar Degas and Jean-Louis Forain, illustrated it during its heyday, rendering this legendary place and its inhabitants in their diverse truths which wavered between the ephemeral glory of theatre and everyday sordidness.”

The origin of ballet sex:
The use of pointe shoes for ballet sex undoubtedly came about when it was found – from the high heels worn in Paris brothels of the time – that women’s vaginas were much tighter when their heels were elevated which caused their pelvic muscles to clench. So for ballet dancers being taken in in heelless shoes it became desirable to stand en pointe to increase a lover’s pleasure by tightening his penetration experience, a natural extension of high heel sex, and an indication of the ballerina’s skill and strength in being able to be penetrated to orgasm in heelless shoes. But no one knows which dancer used it first. Additionally, since most dancers were tiny being on their toes made it easier for a man to enter them from the rear w/o having to appear to need help by standing on a small box in so grand a location or in one of the encounter sallies associated with the Foyer de la Danse. So proper ‘ballet sex’ I believe is at least 150 years old and requires a dancer with the skill to be penetrated while en pointe in toe shoes. In recent years the advent of nearly unbreakable polymer toe boxes and shanks by Gaynor Minden and it’s imitators have made it far easier for today’s skilled dancers to be taken while en pointe, but they still need the strength and stamina and ability to concentrate to prevent their ankles and knees from buckling during orgasm.

Ballet boot sex:
Ballet boots as they have come to be known since the 1980s are fetishwear used for bondage ‘training’ by locking a person, usually a submissive woman, into the boots as punishment for committing some ‘offense’ against her master or Dom. Or, used by club entertainers for walking or dancing, but only by a few who have the skill and determination to persevere in learning to wear ballet boots confidently. The great majority of ballet boot wearers only pose seated or on their backs with their pointed, booted feet in the air with only a handful of dedicated amateurs learning to walk around in them. Therefore, most sex in ballet boot is had by women on their backs or on their hands and knees taken doggie style so it is not true ballet boot sex which requires the woman to be penetrated while standing in her boots. As uncomfortable as they are to wear for prolonged lengths of time ballet boots take less skill and training to use correctly than do pointe shoes because in a correctly made pair of ballet boots most of the wearer’s weight is taken on her heels and the weight of a ballet boot wearer is never centered over her toes (over the boxes) as it should be when pointe shoes are worn correctly. The other thing about ballet boots that make them much easier to wear than pointes is that the tight leather shafts covering the boot wearer’s ankles provide a great deal of support to prevent wobbling and falling off pointe that doesn’t exist for a woman wearing pointes.

Jack on ‘the highest reaches of society’:
“The highest reaches of society presume that the best reside up there. This, of course, is not only a myth, but in the best case only partially true. While money provides people with the material trappings associated with success, there are things which money can't buy and which are often not found in the upper reaches of society - beauty, creativity, physical strength, spirituality, character all have absolutely nothing to do with the upper reaches of society. If one looks at most of the great and notable achievements throughout human history most were created by the "common folks" not the upper crust. It's only recently that creativity and arts have been rewarded with material wealth. The upper level may influence society with their wealth and power, but most of them are incapable of actually doing much aside from "giving orders". Of course, if one seeks the comforts and power associated with that elite turning oneself into a commodity of currency to this class would make sense. But there is "comfort" and there is comfort... and therein lies the differences... which most intelligent, grounded, ethical people understand... and conduct their lives accordingly.”

“The highest reaches of society presume that the best reside up there.”

As does Jack, I don’t believe that is necessarily the case nor are they more successful, depending on how an individual defines success. However, it also depends on how “best” is defined and what sort of a man a woman is seeking. The upper reaches of society are made up of the great and the good and among the great are some very unpleasant people as is the case in all levels of society. But in this moralizing I sense an unspoken - but profound - unease with a woman’s innate power to beguile men and with that power better her economic position. I think that unease is because intelligent men realize – perhaps subconsciously – that regardless of how physically or economically powerful they are they are still vulnerable to a woman’s charms and the danger that vulnerability can sometimes put them in. This battle of the sexes has gone on ever since humans began inhabiting the earth. It’s just when intimate feminine skills are taught and that fact is brought to the attention of the public that some people become uncomfortable with it and fall back on ethics and morality as reasons for a woman not to use all the skills she possesses to secure her future and that of her offspring with a willing mate.

Rave from a reader: While he felt there was room for improvement in my blog ‘The Mysterious J’ wrote: “…it certainly links the whole ballet boot fetish thing to the real world of ballet, perfection, fetish and training with the latter three being staples of the world of kink. Actually the main themes of Jill's world are an interesting mix of fetishes and Brava for that. Rubber, diving, ballet boots, bondage, plugs, "sex as a paid service", D/s, breast milk, and contraception, WOW!”

Thank you Jack!

Pointe and Achilles tendons

Contracted calf muscles and Achilles tendons en pointe

Eric, a good friend and regular reader writes: “Saw this article, [below] and I was wondering how that could relate to ballet boots, since they're even higher than the high heels that non-fetishists would wear.” I’m indebted to Eric for bringing this article to my attention.

“High Heels Reshape Leg Muscles, Create Pain When Not Worn

Women who wear high heels daily might be signing up for more than a little foot pain. Habitual high-heel wearing can lead to changes in the calf muscle and tendons, according to a new study.

So much so that these women actually experience discomfort when they walk around sans stilettos.

The high-heel habit can cause fibers in the calf muscle to shorten, and the Achilles tendon, which connects the calf muscle to the bone, to stiffen and become thicker. While this set-up doesn't pose problems when the heel is propped up, it can lead to discomfort when standing or walking around flat-footed because the muscle and tendon are stretched beyond their normal range of movement.

"In a way, the system has adapted to this new position," said study researcher Marco Narici of Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. "When they wear high heels the muscles feel more comfortable."

The results will be published July 16 in the Journal of Experimental Biology.
Measuring muscles

When people put on high heels, their ankles are raised and their calf muscles are held in a shortened (contracted) position. Scientists know that when people place their muscles in a shortened position for a long period of time - such as in a plastic cast - the muscle literally becomes shorter, Narici said.

Narici wondered if constantly wearing high heels could also cause muscle shortening.

"I thought that: women wearing high heels were doing an experiment for us without knowing it, so all we had to do was recruit them and test them," he told LiveScience.

In addition, there is anecdotal evidence from the 1950s that secretaries experienced discomfort when they took off their high heels and walked barefoot, Narici said, which also suggested perpetually wearing high heels causes changes.

The study participants included 11 women (average age 43) who had worn stiletto high heels (at least 2 inches, or 5 centimeters high) for five days a week for two years or more. Most of the subjects said they felt discomfort when they were standing barefoot. A control group of nine women who did not regularly wear high heels was also included.

Narici and his colleagues first measured the size of the women's calf muscles using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, they didn't find any differences in muscle volume between the two groups.

Next, they used ultrasound to measure the length of the calf muscle fibers, finding they were 13-percent shorter in high-heel wearers compared with the control group.

Having shorter fibers should affect how the muscle contracts - shorter fibers should generate less force and make walking less efficient in these women. But the researchers couldn't find any differences between the two groups in terms of how the calf muscle contracts.

An examination of the Achilles tendon showed the tendons of high-heel wearers were thicker, and thus stiffer, than those of non-high heel wearers.

The thicker tendons counterbalance the shorter muscle fibers and allow the muscle to behave normally, Narici said. But the combined effect of the thicker tendon and the shorter fibers is the likely reason behind the soreness felt when high-heel wearers ditch their stilettos..

High heels aren't the only footwear risk. A separate study in 2008 found that constantly wearing flip-flops alters how you walk, changing the gait in subtle ways that can lead to problems and pain in the sole, heel and ankle.

Ditch the heels?

Narici doesn't think the results mean women should give up wearing high heels. But he recommends stretching exercises after a day of wearing high heels to prevent the muscle fibers from shortening.

Currently, Narici and his colleagues are investigating whether thicker Achilles tendons make running less efficient.

Narici conducted his work with Robert Csapo of the University of Vienna, Austria, and Olivier Seynnes and Costis Maganaris of Manchester Metropolitan University.

The study was funded by Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Vienna.

Personal comment: This article provides clinical proof for the general public of what ballet dancers and pointe shoe / ballet boot fetishists have known for years. That if you are going to spend a lot of time with your heels off the ground or floor you are going to have to spend time afterward stretching your Achilles tendons to ensure that they aren’t shortened. I mentioned this need most recently in my post of July 9, 2010 where I wrote:

“The down-side of Pointe boots: Pointe boots of all kinds have a common set of problems. Pleasure Boots were designed with sex en pointe in mind so the boxes are heavily padded to protect the toes and ankles. The problem in wearing them (as with all pointe boots) comes from leg cramps from wearing them continuously for too long and that also causes the Achilles tendons to shorten so a wearer of any sort of pointe boot has to do Achilles tendon stretching exercises when not wearing them to be able to walk comfortably barefoot or in flats. Calf cramps can be minimized by getting used to wearing her boots for hours at a time and ensuring her diet is rich in all the vitamins and minerals needed and she should stay well hydrated.”

To expand on Achilles tendon (AT) stretching a bit more: Ballet dancers in major and regional companies don’t usually have problems with pointe shoes shortening their achilles tendons because they spend a relatively small percent of their time en pointe, as opposed to pointe or ballet-boot escorts who service the fetish communities and boot fetishists themselves. In addition, most of the conventionally made pointe shoes have a negative (-1° to -3°) heel. That means that when wearing the shoe the heel is slightly lower than the toes, because of the material build-up on the under side of the platform where the pleats or feathers of traditional shoes are gathered. So, there is some stretching of the AT just by walking around flat in pointes. Extreme pointe wearers, like St Lucy’s ballet students who are en pointe a significant part of their time in classes and rehearsals are tested for any AT shortening to see if they can wear negative heel shoes safely. If they can wear them safely they start wearing negative heel sandals as soon as they start pointe classes to minimize the likelihood of AT problems. It’s common to see the ballet girls in negative heels in the dorms and when shopping to counter the long intervals with their calves tightened and their ATs contracted. Wearing negative heels at St Lucy’s has become such a status symbol for the ballet students that it’s become a very serious breech of etiquette to wear neg. heels at St Lucy’s unless you are taking pointe.

As alluded to above there is a huge caution about wearing negative heel shoes for someone who already has shortened Achilles tendons. A woman who already has shortened ATs from wearing heels if she isn’t careful can rupture her AT by over stretching in negative heels so each woman should have an exam before wearing them to make sure she isn’t setting herself up for an incapacitating career ending injury.
