The photo: The Diva Cup comes in two sizes. Size 1 cup is 1 11/16" (4.3 cm) in diameter and the Size 2 cup is 1 13/16" (4.6 cm) in diameter. Both cups are approximately 2 1/4" (5.7 cm) in length in the body of the cup, with another 3/8" (1 cm) stem (2 5/8" total length). Until I bought my new Diva, just before we came to Scotland for the Solstice I was wearing a size one and it worked well. However, even I have to give in to age after a while so I decided on a size 2 as I’m now 43, but my vaginal muscles are far stronger than most twenty-something ballerinas known for their amazingly tight grips.

The Diva Cup should be emptied, washed and reinserted at least twice in 24 hours and can be worn overnight without concern of leaking and it can be safely boiled if necessary to clean it. Even on heavy days I can wear it for 12 hours w/o it needing to be emptied. DivaCup holds an ounce of menstrual flow (30 ml) and as the average woman only flows about 1 to 2 ounces (30-60 ml) per cycle so most of us can go longer than 12 hours w/o emptying if necessary.

However, some like Willow’s friends, find they are at a secondary libidinal peak while bleeding and are far moiré creative when fertile so they feel the inconvenience of dealing with flow control is worth it to be able to enjoy the cycling of their natural hormones.

Menstruation, hormonal contraceptives and DCS: There is a correlation between increased instances of DCS and the first week of a woman’s cycle when she is menstrual especially if the woman is on strenuous long or deep dives. Less frequent or shorter less strenuous dives during her period reduce the chances of DCS significantly. There is no indication that using hormonal contraceptives increases a woman’s risk of a DCS incident.   I’m CD26 and luteal and shouldn’t start my period until this coming Friday when I expect Bea, Willow and the Swan Twins will begin to bleed as well since they are in menstrual synchrony with me.

Of course while diving menstrual flow usually stops because diving is very dehydrating since the pressure forces water out of body tissues and fills the bladder, which is why even when you empty your bladder before diving after you have been down for a while you need to urinate again. However, after surfacing menstrual flow begins again and then some of us will gush filling our menstrual protection (tampons) occasionally to over flowing which is why a menstrual cup or a diaphragm works so well as they can withstand the gush that may occur shortly after surfacing. .

EAN32: However, because Willow’s friends are bleeding and menstrual dive-sex will be strenuous for them we are all diving enriched air Nitrox (EAN) with 32% oxygen rather than the 21% oxygen in regular air to reduce the possibility of DCS incidents. In order to do that our Divemaster had to clean our regs and OTS Guardian FFMs to ensure they were safe for use with EAN32 as there is an increased risk of fire when using improperly cleaned masks and regs with high oxygen content gases. Our 80 cu ft tanks are filled from a large cylinder delivered from a dive specialty shop in Aberdeen that services the divers working in the North Sea oil fields.

Menstrual dive-sex and cramps: Almost all women who have tried having sex underwater while menstrual have reported feeling totally free of menstrual cramps after an underwater orgasm. It’s common knowledge that an orgasm during conventional (surface) sex has cramps relieving powers, but as underwater sex is thought to be kinky very little to no research has been done under dive conditions so we are left with our own and friends experiences which for the most part have been very positive as far as relieving menstrual cramps is concerned. Then we entered the water. The guys loved ‘helping’ and it was a fun way to get them invested in our safety.

Subjugation discipline: A reader once asked why discipline is so popular in the BDSM subculture and especially in rubber fetish communities. I’ve been talking to Doms and especially Adolph who is an expert in dive discipline, for their answers to that question and as you might imagine I’ve gotten a number of different answers. However, the guys all say that there is an immense feeling of power and satisfaction on the part of the male when he can take an untrained, high spirited, beautiful, fertile, sexually adventuresome young woman and bend her to his will by a series of intense disciplinary encounters. Additionally, it can depend on where the woman is in her menstrual cycle as to how much fun the man has. The men all agree that disciplining a fertile or menstrual woman is the most fun. Typically, the more the woman being disciplined resists his training the more fun her Dom has and the more satisfaction he takes in the result when he finally breaks her will so that she becomes submissive and responds eagerly to his every command.

Physical requirements: The candidates for subjugation training must have no heart, blood pressure or skeletal problems and a full physical including a pelvic exam, bone density and negative pregnancy tests are required before a candidate can undergo a rigorous disciplinary training regimen.

Dive discipline equipment: A full face mask is worn to prevent drowning from expelling her regulator due to ecstasy, pain or unconsciousness during training. A wetsuit, drysuit or bikini may worn depending on the depth, water temperature, gas mixture, and duration and discipline regimen to be used during the dive. For crush training a drysuit at a depth of 150 feet and regular (21% oxygen air) is used. Divers being disciplined with crush training are accompanied by an instructor breathing Trimix 10/70 to make sure the trainee doesn’t become so narked she tries to remove her FFM. The instructor also monitors the trainee’s drysuit squeeze during crush training to try to ensure no ribs are broken as air is vented from the trainee’s suit and the squeeze is increased. That’s why all dive discipline candidates must pass a bone density test to gage the likelihood their skeletons can withstand the compression of a deflated dry suit at 150 feet.

A biofeedback vibrator: I had been testing a remote controlled G-spot vibi that has a biofeedback loop in it. It was developed by Jeff’s labs and it works so well that when I used it for 20 minutes at a depth of 20 feet I was too exhausted to get out of the pool after having to come to the surface because I was nearly out of air. I’m thinking the biofeedback unit is addictive because if left activated it keeps the user generating endorphins that keep her in a state of ecstasy until she collapses or the battery runs down.

I had told Adolph about the biofeedback G-spot vibi and he has begun using it for exhaustion training along with a clitoral vibrator that is worn in a grope cup. The biofeedback vibi searches for the woman’s G-spot and once found maximize her pleasure to the point of driving her to exhaustion and unconsciousness if it’s not shut off. Worn on a disciplinary squeeze dive encounter it can cause heart, and blood pressure problems as well as increasing the wearer’s air consumption to the point she exhausts the air in her tank prematurely and risks asphyxia or DSC from a rapid ascent w/o a decompression stop. Adolph as a sex and business partner: Adolph and I are so very much alike in our fetish needs. Jacques at 10 meters: I had my first true dive-sex encounter with Jacques in the pit last night. I had been showing him the basics of dive-sex in much shallower training pools at my place or the casino whenever we had an hour or so open on our schedules. He is an experienced SCUBA diver having dived the Mediterranean and the Red Sea as well as the Caribbean, but he had never had real dive-sex. I had been alerted – by Tanaquil who knows Jacques from when she provided him with escorts in Paris - that he likes girls to swim nude and is particularly fond of seeing them in surface supplied FFMs, especially a DESCO which he remembers from television when he was little. So I had a bit of time for the casino Divemaster to get one for me and had it customized to upgrade the face seal to give my high cheek bones the best possible fit. Diving a DESCO commercial free flow FFM it’s much simpler than diving a KMH-16 since there is no sequential dressing in the pieces, but I do usually wear a neoprene hood to keep from tangling my hair. With a free flow FFM a surface supply continually provides enough air for the diver to breathe. With this free flow model air is delivered through a non-return valve and an air-control valve, mounted on the right side of the brass mask frame. The air-control valve allows the diver to regulate the airflow as needed; quickly and easily. A single stage exhaust valve is mounted on the left side of the frame and the exhaust is vented directly up and back.

Other than the tug of the umbilical which like the KMH feeds from the right, I really like the DESCO because it is so small that there isn’t the inertia associated with movement of a KMH. I think it is also quieter with the adjustable free flow valve because there is no regulator on the mask to hiss loudly every time a breath is drawn through a demand valve, but there is a continuous low level hiss that I’ve found it easy to tune out. I love listening to my exhaust bubbles racing to the surface when I’m soloing, and to my partner’s DV and bubbles during an encounter. And, with no tank and harness my entire figure presents for my partner’s enjoyment. A plus for dive-sex is that a girl’s breasts present at their very best! Silicone implants are a bit heavier than water and if they are large enough may cause a bit of sag, but saline implants and breast tissue are neutral or slightly buoyant so they float and present naturally. Water is the perfect and most comfy bra!

Pressure equalization: Though we dived the pit our encounter was not nearly as deeply submerged as I had intended. Jacques had trouble equalizing the pressure in his ears and he couldn’t get below 10 meters w/o considerable pain. We even tried decongestants but they didn’t seem to help. We ended up with him penetrating me at a depth of 20 feet with me tethered by ankle leashes to buoys. It was lovely and he held me in ecstasy until I was quite limp. I was glad I didn’t have to grip the mouthpiece of a regulator between my teeth. I could just turn up the air flow and relax and watch him pleasure me before he finished by planting his seed against the silicone membrane of my gas guard as he rammed my cervix.
