Flight attendants and vacuum sealed diaphragms: I first noticed the dome of my diaphragm under significant vacuum when I inserted my Reflexions in Tahoe (at an elevation of more than 6,200 feet) for dive-sex last summer. It was such an amazing feeling that developed as the dome suctioned tighter against my cervix and anterior wall as Limnaea, my G550, was descending to land at McCarran at an elevation of about 2,200 feet! I love the feeling of pressure as the latex membrane stretches over the tip of my cervix. It’s rather like the pressure on my toes in my toe pads when I walk or stand en pointe.

Now, we are beginning to see a few flight attendants’ coming in to be fitted for latex diaphragms as the word spreads about the eroticism of wearing one with a pressurized dome. Most admit wanting latex because of the experiences of friends, but a second reason is that a Latex flat spring diaphragm is the safest for use as ‘flood insurance’ during dive-sex which flight attendants have discovered and are scheduling private classes during layovers. The flight attendants reasons are reversed from the escorts for whom a latex FS is a standard part of their equipment when with a dive-sex client. But then most escorts haven’t had experience vacuum sealing the dome of a diaphragm during a flight. Unfortunately only about 40% of the women who have come to us wanting to learn how to vacuum seal the dome of their diaphragms have the proper pelvic anatomy to do so.

There are several caveats for women wanting a high vacuum in the dome of a latex FS diaphragm. First she mustn’t be allergic to latex. While that seems obvious some women want to try anyway which is not a good idea! Second as mentioned above she must have the proper pelvic anatomy. Some women, because of their vaginal rugae (the folds in the walls that allow the vagina to expand when aroused and during childbirth) are unable to develop a strong vacuum in the dome. The dome will seal effectively enough for contraception when used with spermicide, but won’t develop a significant vacuum in the dome which allows it to adhere to the cervix and anterior wall as tightly as a coat of paint. For the lucky women the thin latex dome will stretch under pressure to develop a high vacuum and a nearly perfect fit. However, a few of them find they can’t stand the pressure on the cervix and don’t pressurize. Because the domes of silicone diaphragms are stiffer and less stretchy under vacuum even I find a silicone dome under strong vacuum puts too much pressure on the tip of my cervix for me to stand it for more than a few minutes and that much pressure can also cause the cervix to bleed.

Returning readers will remember there are some other disadvantages of latex diaphragms: they don’t last nearly as long, discolor quicker, tend to develop an odor sooner and may contribute to infections more than silicone ones. Still, for those of us into dive-sex or wanting a vacuum in the dome the latex Reflexions is a must.

The dome vacuum: For a woman whose anatomy allows developing a high dome vacuum, inserting a tight sealing cervical barrier while in an aircraft at altitude with a typical cabin pressure of 8,000 feet, allows the dome to be under a vacuum of several pounds per square inch at ground level. I can get somewhat the same result by ‘pumping down’ as I described in my March 31, 2012 post, ‘Ballet-sex exams, dome suction’, but it doesn’t approach the seal developed with a 2 to 3 psi dome vacuum. Some examples of the strong dome vacuums that can theoretically be obtained locally are:

Las Vegas atmospheric pressure at 2028 feet above sea level say 13.7 psi (2,000 ft)..

Lake Tahoe atmospheric pressure at average surface elevation 6225 feet above sea level, say 11.8 psi (6,000 ft).

Typical passenger plane cabin pressure kept at the equivalent of 8,000 ft, 10.9 psi.

Differences in air pressure Vegas from Tahoe = 13.7 psi minus 11.8 psi = +1.9 psi.

Differences in air pressure Vegas from typical pressurized passenger plane = 13.7 psi minus 10.9 psi = 2.8 psi.

Adolph’s Multiplace Hyperbaric Chamber: There are several local multiplace hyperbaric chambers, but they are all associated with medical facilities open to the public. Given the size of his fetish-diver training facility and the pressure related problems he has encountered with students, primarily women, sent to him for training he has recently had a six bed hyperbaric chamber added to the private hospital he funds for fetish related injuries here in the valley since a lot of the patients are from his training facility. A nice thing is that there is direct access through a tunnel from ‘The Well’, his 216 ft deep underwater training facility, to the admitting area at the hyperbaric chamber.

Until Adolph’s hyperbaric chamber became available there has been no convenient way to tell for sure if a woman being fitted for a latex FS diaphragm could successfully pressurize the dome and if the seal will hold or not, unless she (accompanied by her fitter) was taken up in a small unpressurized plane to 6,000 feet to insert and that was very expensive and could take several hours for the drive to and from the airport and the short flight. Now for groups of as many as six – who have been prescreened for suitability - the dome vacuums can be tested before the woman actually buys the diaphragm. It’s still an expensive test, but it’s worthwhile for a flight attendant desiring to high-vac her dome, a few wealthy women who fly a lot and for medical personnel having access to a multiplace hyperbaric chamber. And of course high-vac diaphragm fittings and tests are now available for guests at The Lorelei, Adolph’s European style spa, yet another profitable revenue stream for an already successful operation.

Elke’s GNT drysuit: Elke the Swiss girl’s schools aquatics mistress who will be teaching dive-sex beginning this summer, brought along her German GNT drysuit for some cold water dives while she is here. Actually she brought two large cases of dive gear she shipped by DHL with dry and wet suits and four different regulators all rated for exotic gas mixes. She is over her migraine and feeling well enough that Adolph took her to Lake Tahoe yesterday and they had to break the ice in front of his place to get in the water at the end of his dock. They put a sonar transmitter down and took receivers with them so they could find their way back since visibility isn’t that great on a sunny day and it was very overcast. She wore a good set of thermal underwear and said she was quite comfy. She has a GNT drysuit and Interspiro FFM just like in the one in the image accompanying this entry.

Deep-dive (below 10 M) diaphragms: I am switching my circle to using Reflexions latex diaphragms for dive-sex below 30 feet. That way they can have dive-sex at any depth while menstrual. They can still use a FemCap for thrust buffering if they need it when they aren’t on their periods, but Reflexions is safe for contraception and as a gas guard down to at least 130 feet. I had another three intense deep-dive encounters with a lot of cervical thrusting by Adolph at 130 feet last night and afterward the inside of the dome was free of his semen. We were both on Trimix so he’s had the heaters turned up in the well so I was comfy in just a bikini which I wore only for the ‘anticipation effect’ of giving him something to remove so he felt as though he took charge and undressed me and I felt as though I was giving in. I wear a custom made Gottex front tie dive-bikini so he can get my top off w/o removing my SCUBA set. Since Reflexions is a really stretchy latex it takes a bit more care than a silicone gas guard but as long as dive-gel is used and the dome is checked for pin holes, cracks and thin spots before each use a girl is quite safe and with proper care should last for at least a year. When Cyndi switched to Reflexions she found that because she has been so sexually active she needed one size larger than the one she got just 6 months ago, which is pretty typical.

Trimix for encounters: Adolph and I and the two dive-girls on staff all breathe Trimix so we can dive to the bottom of the well safely, so I have upgraded some of my regulators and FFMs to use exotic breathing gasses, Nitrox or Trimix. I use a single hose Ocean Reef Neptune Space Raptor (the black one) that has the standard upgrade for Nitrox and Trimix gasses because it is a very high quality mask and Adolph has made the Ocean Reef Neptune Space series of FFMs the mask of choice for diving his training well. If the Neptune Space series looks familiar to returning readers it’s because it is made by the Italian company that makes the Mestel SGE 400-3BB gasmask that my friends and I use at gasmask fetish clubs and parties. The Neptune series of FFMs is basically the SGE gasmask body with modifications for breathing compressed gasses underwater.

Adolph’s trainees breathe various gas blends depending on the profile of the dive encounter they will be having. Nitrox increases the amount of oxygen, lengthening bottom time before nitrogen loading requires surfacing, but below 90 feet it also increases the likelihood of oxygen toxicity. Lowering the oxygen content increases the maximum operating depth (MOD) and duration of the dive before which oxygen toxicity becomes a limiting factor. A mix using helium such as 19% oxygen, 30% helium and 51% nitrogen (a 19/30 mix) is used in the 30 to 60 m (100 to 200 ft) depth range to safely extend bottom time while minimizing both OT and nitrogen narcosis. We also have to use a different set of decompression tables in our computers as well. Trimix 19/30 is what Adolph’s blender has switched us to because the blend we had used for my first deep dive was a 10/70 mix that was dangerous to use at depths above 100 feet. Adolph has his own continuous blending compressor for filling Trimix storage tanks but has an expert blender come in to actually run it to check the mix and fill the tanks. Then all that has to be done is decant the gas (carefully) from a storage tank to the SCUBA tanks as needed. A helium analyzer is used to check the mix in the storage tanks and the individual scuba hp bottles. The cost of helium from Adolph’s supplier is $150 per 1,000 cu ft so that’s an additional cost for Trimix diving but helium is mandatory for safety at that depth.

Pregnancy and discipline diving: Because a girl participating in a course of dive discipline at Adolph’s may not be there entirely voluntarily and because a typical way to avoid having to dive is to get pregnant it’s inevitable that some of Adolph’s trainees will attempt to get pregnant from routine sex during disciplinary encounters. They are all supposed to be using an effective method of birth control – in addition to wearing gas guards – but human biology is a tough bitch to fool. There is only one trainee resident at Adolph’s at any given time and she takes a pregnancy test each morning. The problem isn’t that birth defects can be caused from the fetus being under intense pressure during a dive. The problem is that pregnancy could cause the student to vomit in her mask or faint during an encounter which could seriously injure or kill her. A certain number of fatalities are to be expected in training this rigorous, but for the most part the Doms who bring trainees to Adolph for subjugation expect to get them back as submissives eager to comply with their every wish not in a latex body bag, so pregnancies are bad for Adolph’s reputation. And, regardless of where the woman is in her cycle she is given a menstrual extraction before being released to return to her Dom so that he is aware his pool pussy is returning in condition to safely have dive-sex.

Decompression sickness, DCS: Adolph has a young dive facility attendant who went up to his summer place on Lake Tahoe to bring back some dive equipment to the training facility. It’s about a 500 mile trip one way – his place is on the California side south of Truckee - so they were going to stay over night. The lake is at an average surface elevation of 6,225ft, about 4,000 feet higher than Vegas, and the dive-chick wasn’t paying attention to her nitrogen loading. She had dived to depth the evening before she and her boyfriend drove his truck to Tahoe. They were going to have a swim in Adolph’s indoor-outdoor pool so she changed into her wetsuit and went out on the dock to get the equipment off his boat. She hadn’t been feeling well on the drive up and had an attack of DCS and collapsed before she got to the boat. This is an example of DCS from diving before moving to altitude. If the diver moves to a high-altitude location on land immediately after scuba diving s/he may be at risk of DCS. With this dive-chick she is young, thin, and healthy and so a +4,000 change in elevation shouldn’t have been much additional risk, but she was on the edge of her nitrogen limit and some people are more likely to be affected by DCS than others and she was one of them. Her BF dialed 911 and an EMT crew were there in about half an hour. Fortunately there is a hyperbaric chamber facility in Reno which was only about 70 miles away East on I80. She’s doing well and will probably make a complete recovery, but she won’t be able to be an active diver again.

Reflexions latex diaphragms as deep-dive gas guards: I have been working with my Gyn to try the Reflexions latex flat spring diaphragm as an effective gas guard at depths below 30 feet. Returning readers will remember that most diaphragms, the ones with arching spring and coil spring rims, should not be used for contraception or as a gas guard if the wearer intends to dive below 30 feet. That’s because the arcing spring and coil spring designs have air pockets in the rims that cause the rims to distort at pressure below 2 atmospheres, 33 feet. The much more seldom prescribed flat spring rim has no voids in the rim that will make it sensitive to distortion from pressure below 33 feet. I’ve been testing the flat spring diaphragm by using it as a gas guard (worn over my primary protection, an Oves cap) at the bottom of the pit about 65 feet below the surface and it has worked very well. The pit is 68 feet deep, but to prevent being rammed into the bottom while penetrated I like to be taken a few feet off the bottom. A few more successful tests and I will have the confidence to use a Reflexions during my 2 to 3 day period – when I can’t wear an Oves - so I can have deep dive-sex on any day during my cycle. The next step was to test Reflexions at 130 and with Adolph as my partner. I was sure it should work at that depth as well as it does at a depth of 65 feet. Talk about a breakthrough in deep dive-sex! And of course almost any woman can be fitted for a Reflexions so she can have effective .protection for deep dive-sex regardless of where she is in her cycle which is so awesome!

I had planned to wait until Elke was through with her visit to Adolph’s but she developed a sinus infection and a migraine headache and has to lie still in a darkened room and can’t dive for a few days so Adolph asked if I wanted to try my gas guard tests with Reflexions at 130 feet this weekend. That worked well with me since Jacques is in Europe on business so I had some free time. Adolph is fun to be with if you are careful to double check your equipment and enjoy risk taking. He’s way kinky and can be very sadistic, but he’s not so bad when he is with me as a partner. However, if he can be somewhere else when his guest’s are using diving equipment an accident seems to happen. His women guests will almost certainly have a major equipment failure of some sort and his students have multiple equipment failures from which they learn to survive, or not.

Breathing gas: We decided to do the 130 foot test breathing regular air (21% oxygen) rather than Nitrox because at that depth with higher concentrations of oxygen there is a greater risk of oxygen toxicity and 130 feet is below the safety level of both Nitrox I and II mixes contain 32% and 36% oxygen, which have maximum operating depths of 110 ft and 95 ft respectively. So we took the penalty in the form of a long decompression stop on our ascent. Even so we wore Ocean Reef FFMs so if we did have an OT seizure we wouldn’t have to worry about losing a regular when unconscious. At 130 feet we were both feeling the effects of nitrogen narcosis, but as long as we concentrated on having sex we were safe enough. Afterward we ascended to a bit above 100 feet to enjoy the afterglow w/o either of us doing something stupid while narced. Before someone asks why we didn’t use Trimix again the answer is that Helium conducts heat 5 times faster than air and so it can chill divers who then need thermal protection (When we used Trimix a few days ago we were in wetsuits in relatively warm water.) not something I wanted to contend with during dive-sex device testing. The facilities water heaters and circulators have been running full time and the water was a uniform 78° F, delightful for dive-sex because both partners expend a lot of energy. Adolph wore a Speedo slingshot and I wore one of my custom made Gottex yellow thong bikinis under my BCD. The Gottex suit was almost a mistake since I don’t like to lose one of them and I didn’t want to dive to the bottom to retrieve it if it fell away unnoticed. So after he undressed me I wedged the suit under the first stage regulator fitting on my tank. And afterward it wasn’t as though the deco stop was wasted time. I had Adolph take me again while I was tethered by 2 ankle leashes to wall mounted D-rings at a depth of 20 feet. He penetrated me in Missionary (I was tethered in a split) so I could watch him moving in and out of me. He is quirky, but he was very considerate of me and gave me a massive G-spot orgasm before he spewed hundreds of millions of sperm against the stretchy latex membrane of my gas guard.

130 foot depth test results: After we decompressed and rested I Kegeled then douched with clean water to get the semen out of me so that as I removed the Reflexions the dome wouldn’t pick up any semen from my vaginal walls. I had worn the diaphragm dry (without spermicide) and was double bagged, with an Oves sucking on my cervix so if the diaphragm leaked I wouldn’t be at risk, and was delighted to find that with the exception of a little natural lube the dome was empty. There was no leakage of any sort water or semen from three very intense encounters with a lot of cervical thrusting two of which were below 130 feet. I realize a single test dive isn’t definitive, but I see no reason why the results shouldn’t be repeatable with a properly fitted and positioned flat spring diaphragm.

Super Bowl XLIV (44) 02-07-2010: A friend asked what I will be doing on Super Bowl Sunday. At the casino there will be the usual private parties - I think we are nearly at capacity - and the screens in the bars will be showing SB XLIV, but I'm using the occasion as an opportunity to get away from work. I’m having a get-together at my place similar to the one I had at Thanksgiving. I’m thinking the guests will be: Taryn & Chuck, Cyndi & Chris, Anya & Robin, Shelly & Jeff, Marie-Claude & Pirate, Diané & Peter and Jacques & me. And, perhaps Elke and Adolph if they get along well and Elke can stay another few days. I’ve also invited Cyndi’s mom Fiona and her escort of choice – on Thanksgiving it was the sponge worthy Maj. Colin Tree – but I’m not sure she can join us if congress is in session. The menu will be primarily barbecue but steaks and chicken will be available cooked by casino kitchen and wait staff while off duty so they can make some extra money. The pit and swimming pools will be open for qualified divers so I’m hoping to have sex with Pirate and Chris neither of whom I’ve been with intimately since Thanksgiving. I’ll be CD24 then and still have Oves sucking on my cervix so I will be able to have dive-sex at any depth.

Shelly and STIs: Shelly got her last (the third) Gardasil shot yesterday and because this is Vegas and she will be starting an intensive regimen of sexual training she underwent a full panel of STI tests along with her pelvic exam and pap. Research is finding that Gardasil can protect women from HPV caused rectal and throat cancers as well as the cervical kind which is good news since a lot of young women think they are practicing safe sex by having oral or anal sex rather than penile-vaginal intercourse. They have no idea! Pregnancy is a lot easier to deal with than cancer.

Being fitted: I took her out to Gepetto’s to be fitted for a pair of his best custom made ballet boots. She has a pair of off-the shelf ones from a decent maker but Gepetto’s pointe boots are far more supportive and comfortable while being very flattering to the feet and legs. She also had an extensive fitting appointment with Chuck at the clinic for silicone diaphragms and a strapless FemCap. She got a full line of ‘Domme’ cervical barriers in shiny black latex for playing with her rubberstud and was measured for custom a set of Penetrator plugs. Then she had her ParaGard removed and cervix dilated and Chuck implanted a GyneFix IUD which will be far more effective during extremely intense sex than her ParaGard. With all that poking and prodding pelvic activity she was pretty sore so loaded up with ibuprofen and decided to abstain for a day or two to give herself time to recover. Since her husband in on the East Coast on business she shouldn’t have a problem doing that, but then the girl has been known to change her mind, especially if the ibuprofen really kicks in. I’ve had Pirate assign her a training stallion so if she decides to take a man she’s good to go.

Synchronizing cycles: It will be easier to teach Shelly diaphragm use during her period if her period is synched with mine. I’m CD9 and she is CD16 and we both have very regular 28 day cycles. So, to delay her period until I’m CD1 again Chuck, her Gyn, prescribed her nine 5mg tablet of Aygestin (the progestin norethisterone) that will allow her to delay her period. She’ll begin taking one a day two days before her period is supposed to start and will stop taking them when I’m CD28 so we should start bleeding together. I don’t think we well be working as closely as Anya, Taryn, Cyndi and I do so she may not stay in menstrual synchrony with me as they do, but if not we should be close enough for several cycles which will be long enough for me to demonstrate menstrual sex techniques and for her to practice them with a suitable partner.

Domme wear: As a rubber-chick in the making Shelly has really taken to our clinic’s ‘Domme’ line of shiny black latex cervical barriers. She has been using a Diva Cup for flow control during her periods and wasn’t aware that a diaphragm could be used for flow control to allow penetrative menstrual sex w/o much of the attendant mess. Like a lot of other girls who are into rubber she bought several diaphragms so she can give her husband one. Even though she had a IUD inserted he has been after her to be fitted with a latex barrier, but because of the ParaGard’s strings she couldn’t wear one and be confident that she would not inadvertently pull out her IUD, so she refused. Now that she has a frameless GyneFix implanted and there are no more strings she can safely wear any vaginal device she wants. I’m sure he didn’t know shiny black latex Domme diaphragms have recently become available because most standard manufacturers have switched to clear or pink silicone. Rubberstud wanted one of my pink silicone ones as a trophy (he called it a ‘memento’ of our relationship) but I said no because the likelihood of Shelly finding it was too great. That was before I agreed to tutor her in seduction and I’m glad I did refuse because having her give him a diaphragm in her size and made of shiny black latex will be a wonderful gift symbolizing the start of her conversion to a world class rubber-chick. Latex is more likely to develop a funky odor as vaginal fluids permeate the latex over time, but with her rubberstud that’s actually a plus since he loves the musky scent of latex marinated in estrogenic bodily fluids. Even worn continuously a latex diaphragm should last at least a year if she doesn’t use oily meds or lubricants with it.

Performing with pelvic devices: She will learn to work out and perform with her diaphragm or FemCap inserted. There is nothing difficult there since if properly inserted she shouldn’t be able to feel them and will forget they are even inserted. More difficult is learning to perform with a Penetrator plug inserted because it is pressing on the ring of nerves just inside her introitus and on her G-spot. Performing with a Penetrator can cause her to become fully aroused allowing her to become far more sexually needy than she would otherwise appear even for an excellent actress. Of course one of the reasons she switched from a ParaGard to a GyneFix IUD was to be able to safely wear a FemCap for thrust buffering, deep diving over-pressure protection and diaphragm for diving above 10 meters and as a toy for her husband to thrust into and not have to worry about the ParaGard’s ‘strings’ sticking to the rim and being pulled out along with her diaphragm or cap. But first it's necessary that she become proficient with a set of Ben Wa balls for basic pelvic muscle strengthening exercises.
