Anyone wondering if wearing dancer modified pointes are comfortable has only to look at where the shanks have been cut away from the outer soles and where the wearer puts her weight when on her heels, which is why we seldom put weight on our heels for long when wearing pointe-shoes with customized ¾ shanks. A great many successful female ballet dancers are masochists to some extent which makes it easier to deal with the discomfort of wearing and performing in pointe-shoes.

 Masochism: The term has several meanings:

1. The deriving of sexual gratification from fantasies or acts that involve being made to suffer physical or mental pain. Also, called sexual masochism.

2. The deriving of pleasure from being humiliated or mistreated, either by another or by oneself.

3. A willingness or tendency to subject oneself to unpleasant or trying experiences.

Most women ballet dancers I know fall under the third meaning of the term. Though for me the discomfort (significantly lessened for me by wearing Gaynor Minden shoes for play) is worth the power, confidence I get from wearing and performing in pointes.

The scent maven: I like to be able to provide a fetish partner with a wide range of feminine scents to choose from when we are having a sexual encounter and the extent of options available for my scent bouquet will depend on where I am in my cycle and what I wear.

The aroma of estrogenic sweat soaked pointes: Ballet and foot fetishists often agree that the English paste used in Freed pointe shoes made of traditional materials; hessian, cardboard, satin, leather and paste produces the best bouquet when soaked in a dancers estrogenic sweat. The problem with ballet-boots is threefold: 1) it’s difficult to get the correct size and heel height and, 2) made of top quality genuine leather - not smaller pieces stitched together - they can be very expensive and 3) there are few cobblers who still make quality hand crafted ballet-boots as the market is small and there is little profit, so the maker is usually still making them because he loves fitting fetishists, especially women. The Bloch Alpha as a fetish pointe-shoe: Not only are pointe-shoes more physically and technically difficult to wear than ballet-boots, but the Bloch Alpha is (in my opinion) the most difficult pointe-shoe to train, perform and play in. Since I’ve been wearing Alphas to the foot-fetish venues at Naughty Pleasures there has been a spike in interest in Bloch Alpha pointes by other women far less qualified to wear them than me.

The eroticism of wearing Alpha pointes and knowing how they show off my high arches motivates me to both stay over the blocks and be able to relax enough to enjoy my orgasms something I’d found difficult to do before in shoes made of conventional materials. And, satin under the heels gives them an inverted heel ratio that stretches the Achilles tendons when flat, which is always a good thing. Risks and rewards: There are risks for dancers like me with high arches when wearing Alpha with a ¾ outsole and basically no shanks as we typically have weak arches and need hard shanked shoes. However, I have very strong feet and more than thirty years on my toes so I feel quite safe while wearing them for ballet-sex even when with a partner where there is significant thrust-drop. That’s because as tight as the shoes are my toes are numb by the time I warm up and he gets his rhythm going. I just need to be sure my nails are cut close so I don’t bruise a nail when I’m dropped on my platforms. As a masochist I like the feeling of being dropped on my toes and as a narcissist I love how well the shoes show off my high arches, satin sheathed heels and make my feet and legs look gorgeous! 

 

 

Toe pads and their uses

I prefer the Ouch Pouch which I change when I change pointes if I’m wearing Gaynor Mindens because the polymer blocks make the feet sweat so much more than the paste and hessian blocks of my performance shoes, Freed Classics.

Toe pads uses other than for toe protection:  

Souvenirs/favors: Toe pads make great souvenirs for giving by dancers in strip shows where the dancers have multiple shoe changes especially where they are using crossed elastics and not ribbons for speed changes in contemporary ballets. Tossing soggy toe pads one at a time into the audience can cause a riot with guys fighting one another for the talisman of a favorite stripper. Toe pads are a lot cheaper than giving away a pair of pointe shoes regardless of how dead they are as the shoes can always be worn for class and rehearsals. And the lucky guys can slip the pads in their pockets to fondle or suck on at their leisure rather than getting strange looks while carrying a pointe shoe around in the casino.  Commercial priced Bunheads are about $20 USD per pair and Eurotard is about $17 USD per pair. However, buying Ouch Pouch pads in bulk we get a deep discount.

Ejaculation cups: The Eurotard and similar pads of elastic polymer can be used when a dancer or her Dom wants her in pointes with her toes submerged in his semen. For this use they work better in ballet boots since as long as the wearer’s boots are vertical with the platforms pointing down the semen won’t spill as it does when worn in pointe shoes and the wearer isn’t on her toes.

The down side of this for the inseminated pads wearing dancer is that her pads are already soaked with fluid so prolonged wear can soften the calluses of a professional dancer which can be a problem if they soften to the point that they begin to slough off and leave her w/o sufficient callus build up for a busy performance schedule w/o taping her toes. It’s usually not worth the trouble for a professional to let a lover inseminate her toe pads before a performance even if there will be a quick shoe change and dry pads after a few minutes on her toes.

Doms into gags: Doms can use a Sub’s sweaty pads as a gag using her alignment belt or TheraBand tied around her head and open mouth to hold the pads in place while he fucks her brains out.

Spring Mountains snow: As this was being written (on 11-23-2013, Saturday afternoon) it was snowing in the higher elevations of the Spring Mountains while it was in the low 40s and raining here in town. In the 40s is good weather to wear latex and leather as the clubs can drop their temps w/o using a/c by decreasing heating and just piping in outside air. Since they were calling for temps in the low 50s and rain the next day too we could have had significant accumulation in the mountains. Fortunately the snow line was well above my home, but there was sleet at home and tricky getting home from work. My Subaru Forrester with AWD is good on the roads but ice is scary. It’s all gone now except for snow an area of the peaks north of Mt. Charleston.

Leaky nipples: When I began lactating years ago (it was accidentally induced when I came off hormonal contraceptives and had a lover who was hot for and big in to playing with small breasts) I had really sore nipples at first and I thought lactating might significantly affect my career as a classical ballet dancer. Fortunately my nipples toughened up and my breasts even when engorged have never gotten larger than a full B cup. I adjusted my center to account for more weight in my breasts and it didn’t appreciably affect my jumps, but there have been some maintenance issues. Breast care, lanolin on the nipple and areola to keep them moist and reduce the likelihood of clogged milk ducts and regularly expressing my breasts is necessary. I have a pumping regimen I follow to prevent painfully engorged breasts, using adult male or female partners or my Medela double electric breast pump.

One problem lactating women often face and one that affects me is leaky nipples. I begin to leak if I hear a baby cry or sometimes, when my breasts are full, if I see one. That can be distracting if it occurs when I’m in the midst of performing or seducing or being seduced by a hunky man. I’m successfully managing the problem by wearing LilyPadz nipple shields that cling to my breasts and prevent my nipples from leaking. The maker says:

They are made of medical grade gas permeable silicone and have a self adhesive backing so I can wear them when I’m topless and they are waterproof so I can wear them under a bikini, catsuit or wetsuit for nipple protection when I go diving. To apply them I peel the pad off its holder, a hard round dome, invert it so the sticky side is out and with a finger in the center of the pad firmly depress the nipple. With the nipple flattened I smooth the edges of the pad down over my breast smoothing out any air pockets and I’m good to go. Some women have to adjust to the grip of the pad, but I love how well they have worked for me right from my first wearing! I can jump and spin and they just mold to my breasts so they don’t come off! And they feel wonderful worn under a tight wetsuit.

Dyspareunia: Painful intercourse, dyspareunia, is another common complaint from women who are breast feeding. If it isn’t caused by the healing of the perineum or abdomen after vaginal or cesarean delivery then it’s often from vaginal dryness because lactation reduces the estrogen produced which limits the woman’s production of natural lubricant when aroused. I like to mention the development of ripe toe pads at the start of the semester so students interested in developing their own unique flavor of toe-cheese can get started right away. 5 Rinse the toe pads in clean water to remove the residue from the soap and pat them dry with the cloth then let thoroughly air-dry.

6 If your toe pads are sticky after drying simply dust them with talcum or baby powder. This will also help remove any remaining odors.

Training pool pregnancies: Our clinic is seeing a spike in pregnancies involving women being impregnated during private dive-sex lessons while training in unlicensed dive schools set up in large up-market foreclosed homes in isolated sections of town. These small ‘SCUBA Schools’ advertise teaching intimate dive skills at low prices primarily so the ‘trainer’ can get paid by his students for having dive-sex with them. The photo: The photo is of a silicone Diva cup used to collect menstrual flow. It can be left in for up to 12 hours according to the manufacturer’s guidelines– depending on the woman’s rate of flow - though I have worn one continuously for 24 hours on my light days with no problem. I haven’t written much about wearing a Diva because for me it is a special use device. Returning readers know that I use a diaphragm for flow control and that works well for me even when I’m diving because I can have sex while it’s inserted. However, there are special circumstances, such as when I’m wearing a drysuit continuously for hours and hours during which using a Diva cup works extremely well since I can wear it all day w/o needing to empty it even though my flow is heavier when I dive.

While the manufacturer recommends a Model #2 for women my age I find wearing the smaller model 1 cup fits me better because my continuous training with Ben Wa balls and Kegel exercises keeps the grip of my ‘vaginal vice’ very strong. I always carry a Diva cup in my dive bag in case I find I need to wear a drysuit when I’m menstrual. Then it’s standard procedure to insert the Diva just after empting my bowels and bladder and before putting on an adult diaper and pulling on the thermal underwear worn under a drysuit. The adult diaper doesn’t allow the same form fitting look as when a wetsuit is worn, but the pants of a drysuit are baggy anyway and I’m not on the runway at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week in a drysuit so the extra bulk of the diaper for when I have to urinate isn’t that noticeable. And besides everyone I know wears a diaper when diving a drysuit.

The dimensions of the Diva cup: For anyone interested the Model 1 cup is 1 11/16" (~4.3 cm) in diameter and the Model 2 cup is 1 13/16" (~4.6 cm) in diameter. Both cups are approximately 2 1/4" (~5.7 cm) in length in the body of the cup, with another 3/8" (~1 cm) stem (2 5/8" total length). The stem may be trimmed to adjust for comfort. There is a small difference between the two sizes (Model 1 is 1/8" (~0.3 cm) smaller), but it is important to use the recommended sizing to prevent leakage. The manufacturer recommends Model 2 if the user is 30 or over 30 years old. As with a diaphragm once the Diva cup is properly inserted and positioned at the lower end of the vaginal vault it can’t be felt by the wearer. I’ve worn a Diva for 8 hours in a drysuit on one of my heaviest days and filled it with 20 ml of flow. It will hold up to 30 ml. Another nice thing about wearing a Diva cup is if a man is into drinking menstrual flow drinking it out of a Diva is easier than drinking it from a diaphragm since it fits his mouth better and is easier to compress to squeeze out the last few drops.

Diving and lactation: As I’ve mentioned when writing about lactating before, lactating is a high maintenance function. Extra pressure from wetsuits and/or tight bathing suits puts a lactating woman at greater risk for plugged milk ducts so there is breast maintenance, keeping my nipples and milk glands soft with a lanolin base cream to prevent clogging and the need to wear a front closure wet or dry suit so I can breastfeed or pump my breasts w/o taking the suit off. When diving, in addition to losing fluid when I’m menstrual and due to my milk production I also lose fluid from immersion dieresis - a type of increased urine production caused by immersion of the body in water (or equivalent liquid) which is mainly caused by lower temperature and by pressure - so I have to be very careful to stay well hydrated. And of course I need to breast feed or pump prior to diving and then every 4 to 6 hours to prevent considerable discomfort from engorged breasts, so I take my portable battery powered Medela breast pump when I go on diving day trips.

Toe pads as an aphrodisiac: In my AST (advanced sexual techniques) class I’m teaching tricks to keep a man fascinated. It’s the little unexpected things like letting him suck on your sweaty, smelly and sometimes bloody, toe pads that keeps a man coming back for more. We put on respirators to filter the air and block some of the smell, pulled on latex exam gloves and began cleaning up. From what we found it appears a working girl in her mid 20s had set up business as an independent operator and had been offering ballet sex, doing clients on her toes, in the 4 Ts (full costume: tights, tutu, tiara and toe shoes) in a large room set up with portable mirrors and barre and video cams for recording her encounters. Her dance bag held her partial packet of Yaz birth control pills, her diaphragm case with a heavily stained 70 mm All-Flex inside – suggesting to me that she used it for menstrual flow control as well as a gas-guard during dive-sex in the home’s enclosed pool – a tube of ContraGel spermicide that she was probably using as an intimate lube and a clean micromesh thong. We also found a small Ziploc sandwich bag containing a white powder which I thought was probably her coke stash and there was a lot of it. I’d seen enough stashes to see that it didn’t look quite right and I felt the consistency through the bag and there were tiny granules in it so someone had cut it with something they shouldn’t have.

We looked in the two large closets in the master bedroom that she was using and found one filled with ballet costumes and the other with designer clothes which she probably wore while trolling for clients. Then there was a smaller bedroom that she used to store her dive equipment, wetsuits, regulators and FFMs and rubber fetishwear. The air tanks and compressor to fill them was in the garage with the intake hose running under the garage door and into the top of a large bush by the door to get it at least 5 feet off the ground and hidden from sight to the casual observer. She had so much stuff that I thought someone must have helped her get set up or it must have taken her the better part of a week and a rental truck to do it herself. It’s unusual for a dancer wearing toe pads in Gaynors to get blisters and the blood was from a blister on the big toe that had opened and then started to bleed. I wondered how that happened, then thought to check the consistency of the cocaine residue she had poured into each toe pad and found the granules in her stash hadn’t dissolved in her sweat and were probably what had caused the blister, bleeding and perhaps the OD. I had Gigi put the toe pads in a specimen bag for analysis and looked at the shoe the Canadian has bled in. It wasn’t noticeable so I let Gigi keep the Gaynors.

We rolled the body into a rubber body-bag and loaded it into the van. Then we looked through all the Canadian’s other things for anything of interest I took the cash in her purse and we packed up all her ID to take with the body. There was nothing else we wanted – her new La Perla bras were too large for us - so we left her things for the Organization to use for their escorts and in their fetish and dive clubs. Since the Canadian had ID I called my contact and asked if we should bring her in to put on ice while enquiries were made or run her through the chipper. My reply: I see I wasn’t as clear as I should have been about describing dancers being taken en pointe for ballet sex. I thought with all the times I’ve described being taken from behind en pointe bending over… Well, we are standing up, feet en pointe in second position, but bent over with our backs horizontal and holding on to the barre or a table, chair, the hood of a car or whatever is available so we are penetrated while the vagina is horizontal. There can be some thrusting to lift us off our platforms if a partner is thrusting into the back wall of the vagina where the woman may be briefly suspended on the base of her partner’s shaft when our platforms are off the floor, but with a couple well matched in height there isn’t much if any of that. With a man a bit too tall to enter his partner w/o bending his knees there may be a good bit more when he straightens his legs at maximum thrust depth. Holding the woman vertical or with her legs wrapped around her partner and held against a wall doesn’t technically count as ballet sex even if she is wearing pointes, she has to be standing en pointe.

Jack, I don’t know if your dancer friends have heard of having sex on their toes or not. It depends on how experienced they are and what sorts of friends they have. Ballet sex is absolutely real, but I suspect not widely practiced in the vanilla ballet world because of the stamina and concentration it takes to be drilled w/o falling off pointe or going rubber-legged in he middle of the encounter. It’s a lot easier for the woman to be taken doggie style while on her hands and knees where she doesn’t have to worry about her ankles or knees giving out, but that way there is no clenching of the pelvic muscles to tighten the vagina which is the reason for ballet sex in the first place. It’s a pity you aren’t on intimate enough terms with your dancer friends to see if one would be interested in giving it a try, if they aren’t already familiar with it. Of course, if you are married that would pose a moral problem, but since you asked for a reference one assumes you have already thought that through or are not married.
