The erotic allure of sweaty Gaynors
Gaynors and Lust: In the comments section of my entry, ‘St Lucy’s Ballet intensive’ on May 28, a good friend and returning reader, Leigha, and I discussed the erotic allure of the dancewear clad body and of pointe shoes. There I wrote:
“I think a man’s interest in a woman in pontes has several components: The glove-like fit that lengthens the line of the leg and shows off the wearer’s arches and insteps. The Look of the ribbons wrapped tightly about slim ankles binding the wearers feet into her shoes (a bit of a bondage look there) and the scent of sweat dampened leather, cloth and paste of traditionally made shoes which alone for some of my partners is an aphrodisiac.”
However, for traditionally made pointes of leather cloth and paste the shoes take an often complicated process to break them in to mold them to the wearer’s feet. Over the life of a traditionally made shoe even with periodic re-hardening the blocks soften and the shanks come apart or break with wear so that after preparation and breaking them in a pair of shoes can die in as little as 15 minutes of performance time in some roles and then be useful only for class work at the barre.
Gaynor Minden shoes have blocks and shanks made of a very strong and heat sensitive elastomeric polymer and have built-in shock absorption by using advanced cellular urethane foam, PORON 4000 as an inner lining. This microporous polyurethane provides a durable high performance cushion that has excellent shock absorption properties. With its unique cell structure PORON 4000 circulates air and moisture vapor around the inside of the shoe while ensuring protection against the shock of pointework. To prolong the life of a pair of Gaynors I order mine with suede platforms because once the foam that covers the platforms begin to chip away and pits down to the polymer box the platforms become uneven and can be slick which could cause a fall.
I do find Gaynors a bit hotter to wear and since only the micro cell lining is absorbent the insides can get soggy if worn too long and does take them longer to dry after a long interval of use. But since once properly fitted a new pair requires no breaking in and they last at least three times as long as traditionally made shoes, in most cases and the shanks don’t break they are wonderful shoes, especially for demanding roles where the wearer is on her toes for long periods of time or for recreational use as when being penetrated from the rear while en pointe. This is where a Gaynor blocks internal padding is very useful because I can even wear them w/o toe-pads for rear entry pointe-sex when my feet have swollen. Then I can still be relatively comfortable when powerful thrusts lift me off my platforms only to be dropped back on my toes when he withdraws.
The scent of sweaty Gaynors: The scent of sweat dampened Gaynors is markedly different from the ‘Eau-de-Freed’ scent of damp fabric, leather and paste shoes. I think the scent of Gaynors damp with estrogenic sweat is something of an acquired taste. At least until a man can associate it with pointe-sex or some other erotic activity. The closest familiar odor I can compare it to is the scent of a recently removed silicone diaphragm or FemCap that still has the wearer’s vaginal secretions on it. Just as with cervical barriers the insides of Gaynor shoes really don’t have much of a odor themselves it’s the wearer’s fluids that give them their unique scent based on the pheromones in the woman’s perspiration which can be a powerful male aphrodisiac especially when the woman is fertile. In that sense I think Gaynors are sexier than traditionally made pointes because the woman’s pheromones aren’t masked by the odor of the damp fabric, leather and paste.
It’s not a scientific study of course, but I’ve noticed that I seem to attract more men for conversations when I’m wearing a pair of sweat dampened Gaynors than if I am wearing a damp pair of Freeds. The look of the shoes isn’t all that different except for the stitching around the edges of platforms and the lack of pleats which allows the block to be flatter and a cleaner vamp throat with no drawstring opening. A really nice thing about Gaynors is the side tie drawstring under the arch. That’s a very nice feature because there is no knot bump from the drawstring at the throat of the vamp which can sometimes be painful and it makes a lovely clean line of the throat of the shoe. I’m sure the guys who come on to me when I’m in Gaynors know the difference, but most men wouldn’t, they are just drawn to me by my curves and scent.
Ballet Intensive, Pt II - The Physical: Every prospective student who arrives for prep week gets a complete medical exam to ensure she can take the rigors of the course. A sports orthopod examines new bone density scans and does a hands-on exam of her feet, legs and back to ensure her skeleton can take the pounding of five weeks of intensive pointe classes and sex on her toes. A Gyn conducts a thorough pelvic to ensure there is no reason that she can’t safely enjoy penetrative sex and a cardiologist conducts stress tests to make certain her circulatory system can handle the exertion. In addition her endocrine system is checked to make sure her hormone levels are within normal limits.
We screen prospective students for IUDs well ahead of acceptance because we offer dive-sex as part of the Vegas ballet experience and as returning readers will remember a framed IUD can cause problems when a gas guard is used. Usually we are concerned if a student has an IUD inserted because most of the ones available in the U.S. (ParaGard and Mirena or their clones) have frames which can sometimes be bent by severe uterine cramps which can cause them to perforate the uterus or be expelled and the strings that protrude from the cervix can affect the seal of a gas guard and the gas guard can stick to the strings and pull the IUD out when removing the gas guard. The only IUD we allow a Ballet Intensive student to use is a GyneFix implant. We haven’t run into very many 17 and 18 y/os using IUDs and only one refused to switch to a GyneFix (if she was chosen) in order to stay in consideration for a seat in the course and was dropped from consideration.
Even when a student does well on all the physical tests there can be a major psychological shock because the girls are some of the most talented in the cities where they live and here they are being put in class with students their equal or better so we try to pair them with mentors where we can.
