Intimate services: While I was having my EVA last Friday my Gyn was telling me about some of her recent cases. Several weeks ago she saw a beautiful 38 y/o SAHM who found herself preggers again while still breastfeeding her 6 month old daughter! She had been using one of her 17 y/o daughter’s diaphragms for over pressure protection while she and the hunky pool boy were having dive-sex. Her condition was a shock because she thought she was still protected by breast feeding and complicated because her husband has been on business in Europe for the last three months so she couldn’t realistically hold him responsible for her situation. Because she had been on the pill before getting pregnant with her second daughter she had no cervical barrier of her own so had taken one of her 17 y/o daughter’s old latex All-Flex diaphragm and wore it dry – without spermicide – confident that she still was protected by lactational amenorrhea and wasn’t ovulating. She was 8 weeks along when she started getting sick in the mornings and took a pregnancy test and then a second one and both were positive. So there she was with her Gyn and wanted to get past it in the quickest possible way. My Gyn recommended she have a vacuum aspiration which could be done immediately, which she did. And she was started on a progestin-only-pill (that doesn’t affect her milk production) immediately to protect against future complications from the pool services staff. The guys on pool servicing crews really do need stamina since there are a lot of needy women at home in the summers out here. Though, with home foreclosures being so high here it may cut into their business this year.
Noncompliance: My Gyn said she knows the patient has already been noncompliant as far as sex is concerned because a Gyn colleague lives next door and has seen her in the pool with her pool boy. My Gyn she thinks she should be ok from a contraceptive standpoint because by starting the pill immediately after a termination the hormones protect her immediately. Her uterus should have healed sufficiently by now and wearing her daughter’s old All-Flex should protect against over pressure events. So she is already back taking advantage of the benefits of a full service pool service.

You know, that sounds like it's straight out of Melrose Place or Despirate Housewives. Anyway, what I would give to be a pool guy in that area.
